Motors For Oxygen Self-Production At SpaceX

According to WEG, SpaceX is undertaking the creation of its own Air Separation Unit. This initiative arises from the need for a significant amount of oxygen, a crucial ingredient for rocket fuel. To avoid exorbitant costs associated with third-party procurement, self-production of oxygen has emerged as a viable and economical solution.

Atlas Copco Gas and Process, globally recognized as one of the leading providers of air compressors, has been tasked with supplying the main compressor set for the air separation units. As an integral part of this project, WEG was chosen by Elon Musk and SpaceX to supply the motors that will power these air separation units.
