This year, the fair will bring a series of novelties focused on ESG and new technologies applicable to the professional cleaning sector. This sector generates approximately R$ 100 billion annually, creating more than 1 million jobs and comprises around 63,000 companies, including service providers, manufacturers, and distributors of machines, equipment, disposables, PPEs, among other products and services.
New Technologies and Innovations
During the fair, the main innovations and launches across the professional cleaning chain will be showcased, focusing on institutional environments such as hotels, shopping centers, supermarkets, hospitals, educational institutions, commercial and residential condominiums, commerce, and industries, among others. Notable innovations will include new technologies like robots, software, drones, AI, chemicals, and sustainable solutions for sanitation.
The industry has been distinguished by innovation to meet the growing demand for professional cleaning. Additionally, Higiexpo will offer visitors the opportunity to learn about new trends through mini-courses and free lectures conducted by the Higicon congress and the ISSA congress, which are known for their excellence in sharing knowledge.
Sustainability and ESG: Fair Initiatives
One of the highlights of the fair will be the initiative to compensate each square meter of exhibition space with the preservation of one square meter of standing forest. In partnership with the company We Stand, this action will be carried out using biocredits. The exhibitors at Higiexpo will be involved in this initiative, redirecting resources for the regeneration of the Amazon and Atlantic Forest biomes. Abralimp will also offset common areas, and visitors will be able to purchase biocredits to contribute to sustainability.
In the Sustainable Arena, NGOs such as Teto and G10 Favelas will receive materials and furniture used by exhibitors, intended for vulnerable families. The NGOs Orquídeas Descartadas and Tampinhas que Curam will also be present; the former rescues orchids to distribute during lectures and workshops, while the latter collects caps and plastic seals donated by visitors.
Educational Arenas and Congresses
The fair will feature more than 65 hours of educational content covering various aspects of professional cleaning. In the ‘Yellow Knowledge Area’, exhibitors will share their experiences regarding the market, procedures, best practices, and innovations in products and services. In the ‘Green Knowledge Area’, discussions will focus on sustainability, human development, technical processes, legislation, and the future of the cleaning market.
In parallel, mini-courses will be conducted in the Blue Knowledge Area by the Uniabralimp Foundation and the Training and Capacity Building Center for the Cleaning and Conservation Sector (Cecaf). In addition to educational activities, the fair will also host the Higicon and ISSA Congresses, which are known for presenting valuable content and innovations in the sector.
Educational Game about Cleaning Products
The Brazilian Association of Industries of Hygiene, Cleaning, and Sanitation Products for Domestic and Professional Use (ABIPLA) will have a booth in partnership with the Federal Council of Chemistry (CFQ). They will showcase the game ‘Explosive Mixture’, which addresses the risks of mixing unregulated cleaning products. In a playful manner, the board teaches the importance of using sanitizers approved by ANVISA, including reading labels to avoid dangerous mixtures, while raising awareness of health risks and environmental conservation.
Glass Cleaners Championship
The Glass Cleaners Championship, which promotes the professional category and recognizes the best in this sector, will also be one of the highlights of the fair. For the first time, it will feature separate categories for men and women. Inspired by competitions held in the USA and Europe, the tournament will include three panes of glass measuring 1.15m x 1.15m that must be perfectly cleaned in the shortest time possible.
Participants will have three attempts to execute the cleaning movements in the most effective and fastest way. Neglected details during cleaning will result in point deductions. The top three from each day will qualify for the final, which will take place on the last day of the fair, and the winner will represent Brazil in the World Glass Cleaners Championship.
These and many other attractions focused on the professional cleaning market will be present at Higiexpo 2024. Registrations can be made on the official Higiexpo website.
