On October 13, 2025, the City Hall of São João da Barra announced the opening of registrations for free courses in HUET and Survival, aimed at the offshore training of local residents.

The initiative, promoted by the Municipal Secretary of Economic and Technological Development, aims to prepare the population to operate safely in maritime environments and oil platforms, expanding professional opportunities in the region.

HUET – Helicopter Underwater Escape Training

The HUET course (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) is aimed at professionals who use helicopters as a means of transport to offshore platforms. The training simulates emergency situations, such as forced landings in water, and teaches survival and escape techniques.

It is essential for those who work in offshore operations with air transport.

During the course, participants undergo pool simulations with specific equipment, learning to remain calm and execute the correct procedures in case of an accident. The certification is required by companies operating in maritime and oil areas.

Survival Course: Safety at Sea

Registrations for the free Courses in Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and Basic Platform Safety (CBSP – Survival) are available in two formats: online, through the official website of the City Hall, until 11:59 PM on Wednesday (15); and in person, on the 13th (Monday) and 14th (Tuesday), from 9 AM to 5 PM, at the Opportunities Desk, located at Avenida Rotary, nº 783, in the city center.

The selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, respecting the number of available slots. The courses are completely free, and participants will incur no costs for materials or certification.
