The INSS Received Authorization to Open a New Competition This Year. A Total of One Thousand Positions Will Be Available for Candidates with High School Diploma.
The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) received on Monday (13) authorization from the Ministry of Economy to hold a new public competition. The offer is for one thousand positions at the INSS for young people with a complete high school diploma. The INSS competition will be aimed at the position of social security technician, which requires a complete high school diploma, with an initial salary of R$ 5,447.79.
INSS Has Request Denied for the Offer of a Competition with 7,860 Positions
The authorizing decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Union on Monday (13) and states that the competition announcement, which aims to make one thousand positions available at the INSS, should be published within six months. Thus, the selection process for high school professionals should be opened by December. The next step will be the development of a Commission responsible for organizing the competition, as well as hiring the examining board.
Previously, the INSS requested a competition with 7,860 positions for Technicians and Analysts, however, due to the difficulty in obtaining authorization for such a number, the agency reformulated the request with one thousand job positions for high school professionals and was now accommodated.

According to the Minister of Labor and Social Security, José Carlos Oliveira, it will finally be possible to hold a competition for the admission of new employees to begin the recomposition of the INSS workforce. Considering that Brazil has just emerged from a pandemic that impacted the entire world, and the INSS competition was one of the few to be authorized, it is possible to observe the government’s sensitivity to turn its attention to the needs of the most vulnerable people.
Prepare for the INSS Competition
For candidates with a complete high school diploma who already wish to start their preparation, the latest announcement can be used as a basis. The last competition held in 2015 offered 950 positions at INSS for technicians and analysts.
The selection process was organized by Cebraspe, and candidates for the technician position were subjected to an objective exam that included 120 questions on Ethics in Public Service, Basic Notions of Constitutional Law, Unique Legal Regime, Basic Notions of Administrative Law, Logical Reasoning, Portuguese Language, Basic Notions of IT, and Specific Knowledge.
The questions were of the “True and False” type, where each correct answer added one point and each incorrect answer subtracted one point.
Salaries Can Exceed R$ 5.4 Thousand
The last INSS competition was held between 2015 and 2016 and had over 1 million applicants but did not have its validity extended. Since then, the agency claims that there is a shortage of employees to meet the demands for new requests.
At that time, salaries were up to R$ 7,496.09. In this competition, successful candidates will be paid an initial salary of R$ 5,447.78, plus R$ 458 for food assistance and R$ 321 for health assistance for a 40-hour weekly schedule.
The locations for job assignments will only be known when the announcement is released. In addition to the salary, successful candidates will also receive a bonus of R$ 57.50 for each finalized process.
The INSS currently has over 1 million pending requests in its system, and this bonus was designed to expedite these processes.
