The Air Force Is Accepting Applications for Its Cadet Selection Process. The Announcement Highlights That Candidates with Incomplete Elementary Education Can Apply
The Air Force published its new announcement with openings for the Admission Exam to the Cadet Preparatory Course in 2023 (IE/EACPCAR 2023), on March 30. In total, 130 openings are being offered in the preparatory course for next year, with 110 opportunities for men and 20 for women, with either incomplete or complete elementary education. The announcement of the Air Force states that 20% of the openings are reserved for a quota for Black individuals. To compete for this quota, self-declaration must be made during registration, and the individual must attend the hetero-identification procedure.

The Cadet Preparatory Course will be offered by the Cadet Preparatory School (EPCAR), located in Barbacena (MG). The CPCAR operates as a boarding school and is equivalent to regular high school. Thus, it will last three years and will be divided into General Field and Military Field.
In the general field, high school subjects are covered according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, while the military field aims to promote and encourage the ideals of the Brazilian Air Force.

Students with Elementary Education who complete the Air Force preparatory course with the required performance will receive a certificate of completion for both the High School and the course itself. Furthermore, graduates will be able to compete for vacancies in the first year of the officer aviators training course (CFOAV), provided all the requirements of the Air Force are met at the time of completion of the first course.
How to Register for the Air Force Cadet Competition?
Those with complete or incomplete elementary education interested in participating in the Air Force competition should access the Brazilian Air Force website and register by the 20th of this month.
On the site, it is necessary to fill out some important information and also register on the Air Force platform. A fee of R$ 80 must be paid by the 4th of next month, only at Banco do Brasil branches.
Candidates who are members of low-income families, bone marrow donors, or registered with CADúnico can request a fee waiver until the last day of registration. To be eligible for the waiver, candidates must send documentation that proves their stated condition.
Learn How the Selection Process Provisions Will Work for the Air Force Competition
The selection process for the Air Force competition will consist of six stages. These are:
- Eliminatory and classificatory written exams;
- Health inspection of eliminatory nature, which will occur from September 27 to October 7;
- Psychological fitness exam of eliminatory nature, which will take place from September 22 to October 7;
- Physical conditioning evaluation test of eliminatory nature, from November 16 to 18;
- Complementary hetero-identification procedure of eliminatory nature, which will occur on December 1;
- Document validation of eliminatory nature.
Regarding the written exams, they are expected to take place on July 3. The exams will be held in various cities across Brazil, which are listed in the announcement.
Candidates will answer questions in Portuguese, mathematics, English, and also write an essay. Both the written exam and the essay are worth 10 points each, and to be approved in these two stages, candidates must score at least five points in each.
The preliminary answer key for the written exam will be released on July 21, and those who disagree with the answers may appeal on July 28 and 29, following all the guidelines of the announcement. The essay results will be available for consultation on July 28.
