The Air Force is open for registration for its air cadet contest. The announcement highlights that candidates with incomplete primary education can apply 

Aeronautica published its new public notice with vacancies for the Admission Exam to the Preparatory Course for Air Cadets in 2023 (IE/EACPCAR 2023), on March 30th. In total, 130 vacancies are being offered in the preparatory course for next year, where, of this total, 110 opportunities are for men and 20 for women, with incomplete or complete primary education. O edict of the Air Force states that 20% of the vacancies are reserved for blacks. To compete for this quota, it is necessary to make a self-declaration during registration and attend the hetero-identification procedure.

The Preparatory Course for Air Cadets will be given by the Preparatory School for Air Cadets (EPCAR), which is located in Barbacena (MG). CPCAR operates on a boarding basis and is equivalent to regular secondary education. Therefore, it will last for three years and will be divided into Campo Geral and Campo Militar.

In the general field, high school disciplines are dealt with, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, while the military field aims to encourage and stimulate the ideals of Brazilian air force.

Students who have Elementary School and complete the Aeronautics preparatory course with the performance that is required will have a certificate of completion of High School and the course itself. In addition, trainees will be able to compete for vacancies in the first year of the training course for aviator officers (CFOAV), provided that all Air Force criteria are met at the time of completion of the first course.

How to apply for the Air Cadet competition for the Air Force?

Those who have completed or incomplete primary education and are interested in participating in the Air Force competition must access the website of the Brazilian Air Force and register until the 20th of this month.

On the website, you will need to fill in some important data and also register on the Aeronautics platform. It will be necessary to pay a fee of R$ 80, until the 4th of the next month, only at Banco do Brasil branches.

Candidates who are members of low-income families, bone marrow donors or enrolled in CADunico can request a fee waiver until the last day of registration. In order to be entitled to the exemption, candidates must send documentation that proves the mentioned condition.

The selection process for the Air Force contest will have six stages. Are they:  

  • Written tests of eliminatory and classifying nature;  
  • Eliminatory health inspection, which will take place from September 27th to October 7th;  
  • Examination of psychological aptitude of eliminatory character; which will take place from the 22nd of September to the 7th of October;  
  • Eliminatory physical conditioning assessment test, from November 16th to 18th;  
  • Complementary hetero-identification procedure of eliminatory nature, which will take place on December 1st;  
  • Document validation of an eliminatory nature.

As for the written tests, the forecast is that they will take place on July 3rd. The tests will be applied in several cities in Brazil, which are listed in the notice.

Candidates will answer questions in Portuguese, Mathematics, English and also an essay. Both the written test and the composition are worth 10 points and, for candidates to be approved in these two stages, it is necessary to obtain at least five points in each.

The preliminary score for the written test will be released on July 21st, and those who do not agree with the answers will be able to file an appeal on the 28th and 29th of the same month, following all the guidelines of the public notice. The result of the writing will be available for consultation on July 28th.
