The Federal Institute Offers 100 Slots in a Free Special Education Course at IFSP. The Training Has 180 Hours and Enrollment Open Until March 15, 2026.

Educators from the municipal education network of Franco da Rocha, in São Paulo, will have a new opportunity for professional qualification. The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP) has opened 100 slots for a free course in Special Education aimed at training professionals who work directly in inclusive educational support.

Enrollment can be done between March 2 and 15, 2026, exclusively online.

The training is promoted by the Franco da Rocha campus, with the support of the Guarulhos and Cubatão campuses.

The goal is to train teachers and other education professionals who work with students with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and gifted talents in basic education.

With a total workload of 180 hours, the course will be offered in a blended format, combining online activities with in-person meetings at the Franco da Rocha campus. Classes are scheduled to start on April 15, 2026.

Free Special Education Course Will Have Four Training Modules

The structure of the free course in Special Education offered by the Federal Institute has been organized to provide progressive training to participants.

The content will be divided into four sequential modules, which will cover inclusive teaching strategies and methodologies aimed at specialized educational support.

Each stage will last approximately 10 weeks, allowing professionals to develop knowledge about inclusion and pedagogical adaptation in the school environment.

Additionally, the combination of in-person activities and distance learning (DL) was designed to facilitate participation by professionals already working in schools.

Who Can Compete for the Slots at the Federal Institute

The slots in the free course offered by the Federal Institute are exclusively intended for professionals from the municipal education network of Franco da Rocha.

Among the professionals who can participate in the selection process are:

  • Specialized Educational Support Teachers (AEE);
  • Caregivers and School Life Assistants, responsible for direct support to students;
  • Professionals authorized by the City Education Department.

The proposal is to strengthen these professionals’ roles within schools, expanding their knowledge about Special Education practices and educational inclusion.

Federal Institute Distributes Slots with Inclusion Criteria

Of the 100 slots available for the free course at the Federal Institute, part will be allocated to affirmative action policies.

The distribution will be as follows:

  • 70 slots for general competition;
  • 25 slots reserved for candidates PPIQ (Black, Mixed-Race, Indigenous, and Quilombola);
  • 5 slots designated for People with Disabilities (PCD).

The initiative seeks to broaden access to professional training and ensure greater diversity among participants.

Enrollment for the Free Course Will Go Until March 15

Those interested in participating in the free course in Special Education at the Federal Institute should register via an electronic form.

The application period began on March 2, 2026, and will continue until March 15, 2026.

The selection will be made by order of registration, provided that candidates meet the criteria set out in the announcement and respect the limit of available slots.

The preliminary list of registrants will be released on March 16, 2026, on the official portal of the Franco da Rocha campus.

Certificate from the Free Course Can Help in Teaching Career

At the end of the training, participants who meet the requirements will receive a certificate of 180 hours issued by the Federal Institute.

To obtain the document, it will be necessary to fulfill a minimum attendance of 75% and demonstrate performance in the pedagogical activities.

This certificate can be used for functional progression in teaching, depending on the rules adopted by the education network.

Thus, in addition to expanding knowledge about Special Education, the free course can also contribute to the professional development of educators working in the municipal network of Franco da Rocha.
