Free Course of IFPA Expands Training in Anti-Racist Education with Spots Distributed in Five UAB Poles in Pará, Distance Classes at Fixed Times and Selection Based on a Letter of Intent Aligned to Research Lines on Ethnic-Racial Relations.
The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) is open for enrollment for the postgraduate course lato sensu in Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations, Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture, offered for free, in the EAD modality, with 150 spots.
The specialization is organized by the Belém Campus, in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB) system, and has a total workload of 420 hours.
Throughout the course, the proposal is to qualify professionals to work with anti-racist education and the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture, in alignment with the legislation that addresses the topic in Elementary Education.

According to the announcement of the selection process, the course provides for 360 hours of subjects and 60 hours dedicated to the final project.
Distribution of Spots in the UAB Poles in Pará
The opportunities are equally divided among five face-to-face UAB poles in Pará.
Each city has 30 spots, according to the official announcement of the selection process: Ananindeua, Barcarena, Conceição do Araguaia, Cametá, and São Sebastião da Boa Vista.
Although the offer is remote, the UAB poles function as territorial reference and support, as is the case in other courses linked to the system.
In this specialization, the coordination is linked to the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian Studies and Diversities (NEAB) of IFPA Belém Campus, responsible for conducting the selection process and for the academic organization of the course.
Workload of 420 Hours and Functioning of EAD Classes
The specialization has 420 hours and occurs in a semester system.
In the calendar presented in the announcement, activities include online meetings at fixed times.
Classes take place on Fridays, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..
In addition to the disciplinary part, the course reserves 60 hours for the elaboration of the thesis, as described in the curricular structure of the announcement document.
The same announcement states that the course duration may vary, with a minimum period of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months, depending on the progress of academic activities and the completion of the final project.
Who Can Apply for IFPA Postgraduate
