This strategic move strengthens Invenergy’s position in the renewable energy sector in Brazil, ensuring a significant contribution to sustainable energy generation in the Northeast region. The operation and maintenance of these farms will be essential to ensure efficiency and sustainability of the acquired projects.

As a private American company, Invenergy has demonstrated remarkable capability in managing and operating large-scale projects. The acquired portfolio reinforces Invenergy’s expertise in developing innovative energy solutions, increasing its managed wind asset capacity in the country to over 1 GW.
Acquisition of Wind Farms by Invenergy in Brazil
The purchase of wind farms with an installed capacity of about 600 megawatts (MW) from ContourGlobal and Eletrobras in Brazil marks a significant move for Invenergy. This private American company will hold 10% of the capital of the portfolio, while the remaining 90% will remain under the ownership of Patria Investimentos. Invenergy, one of the leading developers in the sector, will also take responsibility for the operation and maintenance (O&M) services of the wind turbines in the acquired farms.

Expansion of Invenergy’s Presence in Brazil
The wind energy portfolio encompasses four projects located in the Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte regions in Northeast Brazil: Asa Branca, Chapada I, Chapada II, and Chapada III. All the energy generated by these projects is sold to various distribution companies through long-term contracts resulting from renewable energy auctions. With the vast majority of installed wind capacity in Brazil located in the Northeast, this strategic partnership gives Invenergy a robust presence in this area of the country.
