The Deal Involves the Purchase of 50% Stake in the Wind Farms Ventos da Bahia 1 and 2 with an Investment of R$ 662 Million
After Closing a Contract of R$ 500 Million to Acquire a Wind Farm from Eletrobras in Rio Grande do Sul, Omega Geração aims to expand its portfolio in the state of Bahia and announced the acquisition of half of the stake in wind farms from the French multinational EDF Renewables for R$ 662 million. The binding agreement is for the purchase of a stake in the wind farms Ventos da Bahia 1 and 2, which have an installed capacity of 182.6 megawatts. According to Omega’s statement, the contract includes debts, and the company will pay 55% of the value in cash, with the remainder including the acceptance of long-term liabilities of the assets.

Previously, Omega had already closed a deal with EDF for a stake in the Pirapora solar complex. Construction Works of the First Phase of the Wind Farm in Bahia Will Require Up to 500 Jobs in the Region
AES Tietê will invest R$ 1.3 billion to build the Tucano Wind Complex in Bahia, which will have an installed capacity of 322 megawatts (MW). The State Government, through the Secretary of Economic Development (SDE), has granted its institutional support for the implementation of the project, which is expected to generate up to 500 jobs at the peak of construction.
It is estimated that the works for the first phase of construction will begin in October, after the approval of the legal procedures by the competent bodies, such as the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and the Institute of the Environment and Water Resources (Inema). Learn More Here.
