The Company Has Been Activating Since The Beginning Of The Year For Drilling Operations In The Onshore Wells Of The Azulao Field. This Is Another Step Taken By SLB In The Exploration Campaign Of The Amazon Basin For The Year 2023.

With a focus on advancing its exploration campaign in the Amazon Basin region in 2023, SLB, formerly Schlumberger, is preparing to start drilling activities in new onshore wells in the Azulao Field. In the last four years alone, it has drilled four wells in the region, but it aims to expand those numbers in 2023. By the end of 2024, at least another 16 structures will undergo the company’s process.

Former Schlumberger, SLB Starts Preparations For The Drilling Campaign Of New Onshore Wells In The Azulao Field, In The Amazon Basin

Investments in exploration campaigns and the search for new reserves of oil and gas onshore in Brazil are increasingly intensifying.

Now is the time for SLB, formerly Schlumberger, to continue its exploration campaign in the Amazon Basin region.

The company, which has already conducted 10 total drillings in wells located in the Azulao Field in the last four years alone, is preparing for another phase of the initiative. By the end of 2024, there will be another 16 wells undergoing the drilling process in the company’s campaign.

Since the first quarter of the year, the company has been mobilizing equipment to begin drilling operations in the structures.

SLB manager Andre Moroz highlighted the company’s interest in seeking new fuel reserves in the Amazon Basin.

“The construction of the said wells encountered technical challenges, such as drilling amid loss of circulation and tool failure issues due to the geological conditions being more severe than others found in Brazil. Over time, there have been significant improvements in drilling times due to the application of better practices, lessons learned, and the use of new technologies,” he said.

The company has been standing out in utilizing new technologies and equipment for modernization in drilling activities in the national wells.

For The New Well Drilling Campaign In The Azulao Field In 2023, SLB Prepares To Modernize Operations With Optidrill + Synapse Technology

The Azulao Field is currently operated by the company Eneva. SLB operates in the region constructing wells, mainly the 3-phase monobore type, technology consolidated by Eneva.

In this way, it aims to deliver the best results and efficiency in the drilling operations of the wells in the area.

In the coming months, the company will provide integrated services including directional drilling, bits, drilling fluids, open and cased hole logging, cementing, and perforating.

Additionally, SLB intends to expand the modernization of its activities in the Amazon Basin for its 2023 campaign with the adoption of Optidrill + Synapse technology.

This is a technology that allows greater control over drilling information in hostile environments.

“We are employing the most modern equipment available at SLB, which will bring us a huge productivity gain,” Moroz said.

In this way, SLB invests even more in technology and innovation to make its onshore well drilling campaign in the Azulao Field even more efficient.
