Port Of Itajaí Will Receive More Than R$ 600 Million In Investments By 2026, Highlighting New Tourist Pier And Infrastructure Work That Promises To Boost The Regional Economy
The Port Of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, is preparing for a new phase. An investment package with an estimated value of over R$ 600 million will be officially presented this Wednesday (7), in a hybrid meeting at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc).
The presentation will be made by the superintendent of the Port, João Paulo Tavares Bastos, and the president of the Port Authority of Santos, Anderson Pomini.
Tourist Pier Is Highlight In The Package
The majority of the investments will be allocated to the construction of a new tourist pier, aimed at receiving cruise passengers.

In addition, the plan includes improvements to allow the entry of large vessels. The superintendent of the Port highlighted the importance of the meeting at Fiesc to bring security and predictability to the industrial sector in Santa Catarina, especially after the federalization process.
Port Hits Revenue Record
João Paulo Tavares Bastos also celebrated the recent performance of the Port. Only this year, the revenue reached R$ 64 million, a growth of 158% compared to the same period last year.
According to him, with the support of the federal government, through the Port Authority of Santos, the Port will regain significant economic and strategic relevance.
Works Go Beyond The Pier
During the meeting, the resources allocated to different expansion fronts will be presented. Among them are works on the access channel of the Itajaí-Açu River, in the evolution basin, densification, readjustment of the jetties, removal of the hull of the Pallas ship, and containment of the right bank of the channel along the avenue.
On Thursday (8), João Paulo will be in Brasília. He will attend meetings at the Ministry of Ports and other agencies. The main agenda will be the final notice of the dredging concession, expected to be published later this year.
