JinkoSolar, a giant in the solar equipment sector, is about to create solar panels with the highest efficiency ever recorded on the global market. Its new perovskite solar cell achieved a record 33,24%.
JinkoSolar Holding, one of the world's largest and most innovative solar panel manufacturers, recently announced its significant advancement in developing a new perovskite solar cell based on TOPCon type N. Tested by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the cell achieved an impressive conversion efficiency of 33,24%.
JinkoSolar breaks world record with its new solar cells and solar panels perovskite
The efficiency of the new perovskite solar cell represents a significant leap from JinkoSolar's previous record of 32,33% for tandem cells of the same type. This remarkable achievement breaks the world record for energy efficiency and production for painéis solares, achieving an impressive performance of 26 times more efficiency. These perovskite solar panels from JinkoSolar utilize the company's N-type high-efficiency monocrystalline TOPCon solar cell as the bottom cell.
This breakthrough in conversion efficiency for the perovskite/TOPCon tandem solar cell was achieved through several materials and technological innovations, including ultra-thin poly-Si passivated contact technology, new light trapping technology, intermediate recombination layer with high transmittance of light and high carrier mobility, as well as efficient surface passivation technology using hybrid materials.
- Energy consumption in Brazil breaks historical records: 102.810 MW in 2025 and the importance of renewable sources such as solar, hydroelectric and wind power
- China and Saudi Arabia turn desert into energy powerhouse with world's largest battery storage system
- Nuclear fusion has found the miracle it needed on the road to commercial power plants
- Solfácil dominates the solar energy market in Brazil with R$4 billion in financing
JinkoSolar's achievement with the perovskite solar cell demonstrates the compatibility of TOPCon technology as a conventional solar cell solution, integrated with next-generation perovskite/silicon tandem cell technology, surpassing the efficiency limits of single-junction solar cells of silicon.

JinkoSolar delivers millions of solar panels to Germany
A few weeks ago, the Witznitz Solar Park received more than 1,1 million solar panels, supplied by JinkoSolar, one of the largest manufacturers of this equipment in the world. In total, this plant, which is located in Germany, in Lobstädt, has a total module capacity of 650 MW.
According to Frank Niendorf, General Director of JinkoSolar Europe, the rapidly expanding clean energy production in Germany and Europe is the only way forward to sustainably increase electricity supply and reduce carbon emissions.
According to Niendorf, this is why the company is proud to offer more than 1,1 million TOPCon Tiger Neo solar panels for this historic project.
O solar park of Witznitz has already become a reference for renewable energy as one of the largest projects ever built in Germany and Europe with TOPCon panels.
