Keppel Offshore & Marine Secured The Integration And Upgrade Of Contracts Worth A Combined Approximately US$ 160 Million (US$ 118.3 Million).
Keppel said on Wednesday that the contracts were secured through its subsidiaries, Keppel Shipyard and Keppel FELS. The first contract is between Keppel Shipyard and an unidentified operator of oil and gas production vessels for the manufacturing and integration work on a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The scope of work for the shipyard includes the manufacturing of various topside modules, the riser balcony, anchoring and umbilical support structures, as well as the installation and integration of associated equipment and all topside modules on the FPSO.

Drillship Upgrade With Diamond Offshore
The second contract is between Keppel FELS and Diamond Offshore for the upgrade of the semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Onyx. Diamond Offshore and Keppel FELS have collaborated on more than 12 projects since 2005.
The scope of work for Keppel FELS on the semi-submersible platform includes engineering, manufacturing, and installation of new pontoons, columns, braces, and a wing deck. The Ocean Onyx was first upgraded in 2012 by Keppel AmFELS, Keppel O & M’s yard in the U.S., from an older semi-submersible platform.
Scheduled for delivery in Q2 2019, the Ocean Onyx will initially be deployed offshore Australia. As previously reported, the Ocean Onyx was contracted by Beach Energy for drilling in the Otway Basin off the coast of Victoria. The first well to be drilled in Beach’s Otway program will be the Artisan gas exploration well, located in licence VIC / P43.
