With the Arrival of the Jeep Avenger, the Toyota Yaris Cross, and the New Renault Boreal, the Market for SUV Launches in Brazil Will Have One of the Most Exciting Years in History, with Options for All Tastes and Budgets.

The year 2025 promises to be one of the busiest for the Brazilian automotive market, especially in the SUV segment. Major automakers are preparing a series of SUV launches in Brazil that range from compact models with turbo engines to hybrid options focused on fuel efficiency, shaking up the competition for consumer preference.

According to analysis, five new models are the most anticipated and have the potential to become immediate sales successes. Next, check out the details of each of these launches that promise to redefine the market.

1. Jeep Avenger: The “Mini Compass” with Turbo Engine and Local Production

Jeep is set to make a strong entrance in the compact SUV battle. The Jeep Avenger, which is already a hit in Europe, has had its local production confirmed by Stellantis. With a design reminiscent of a “mini Compass” and a more urban vibe, it arrives to be the brand’s most accessible model.

  • Engine: The bet is on the 1.0 Turbo Flex engine for the base versions.
  • Estimated Price: Expected to be between R$ 110,000 and R$ 150,000.

2. Toyota Yaris Cross: The Flex Hybrid SUV Promising 30 km/l

Toyota is preparing its big bet to dominate the segment with a total focus on fuel efficiency. The Toyota Yaris Cross will be produced at the Sorocaba (SP) factory and is expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

  • Engine: It will feature a new flex hybrid system, combining a 1.5 engine with an electric motor, producing around 116 horsepower.
  • Fuel Efficiency: The expectation is that it will be the most fuel-efficient SUV in the country, potentially reaching 30 km/l in the city.
  • Estimated Price: Between R$ 140,000 and R$ 200,000.

3. Renault Boreal: The Mid-Size SUV to Compete with Compass and Corolla Cross

The new Renault Boreal is the most sophisticated launch ever made by the brand in Brazil. Produced in São José dos Pinhais (PR), it arrives to compete at the top of the mid-size SUV segment.

  • Engine: It will come with a 1.3 TCe Turbo Flex engine with 170 horsepower, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz.
  • Technology: It will feature a refined interior, with a digital dashboard, vertical multimedia center, and a complete package of driving assistance technologies.
  • Estimated Price: Between R$ 170,000 and R$ 210,000.

The project envisions a compact SUV with a boxy design, built on the CMP platform (the same as the Citroën C3) to simultaneously replace the Argo and the Mobi.

  • Engine: The big bet is that it will be equipped with Stellantis’ new 1.0 Turbo Mild Hybrid Flex engine.
  • Positioning: It will be an entry-level car with a robust look, aimed at competing with the cheaper versions of other compact SUVs.

5. The New Honda WR-V: The Return of the SUV with a New Look

Honda is also preparing the return of the WR-V, but with a completely different proposal. The new model, which is already running in Asia, abandons the “puffed Fit” look and adopts the identity of a “mini HR-V,” with a more modern and robust design.

  • Engine: It is expected to carry the reliable 1.5 Naturally Aspirated Flex engine with direct injection, the same one that powers the entry-level City and HR-V.
  • Differential: The expectation is that it will have a trunk larger than that of the HR-V itself and that it may receive, in the future, a mild hybrid engine.

A Toyota mais uma vez lança modelos com cara de velho no mercado brasileiro. O Yaris Cross europeu é excelente, o daqui parece ter saído de uma propaganda dos anos 90. Lamentável.
