The Post Office Announced the Rescheduling for the Second Time of the Public Session of an Auction of Mail Items Scheduled to Take Place This Wednesday (17).
The items in question are considered discarded, meaning they are items that were not delivered and could not be returned to the sender.
The discarded items are those that were not delivered for some reason and, after failed delivery attempts, returned to the Post Office center. Since many of them could not be returned to the sender, they are considered discarded and are allocated for auctions, where individuals and companies can bid on them.
The auction of discarded mail items takes place approximately once a year and is an opportunity to acquire items at lower prices, as many of them are in good condition.

How to Participate in the Post Office Mail Item Auction?
To participate in the Post Office mail item auction, you need to be registered on the Licitações-e portal of Banco do Brasil. This registration involves a two-step credentialing process: the first is an online pre-registration, where personal and business data is filled in. After that, you need to go to a Banco do Brasil branch with a series of documents to finalize the registration.
Once the registration is completed, you can access the site and submit bids for the available lots. The winning lot will contain all the available mail items in it.
What Is Available in the Post Office Mail Item Auction?
The Post Office mail item auction is divided into six lots, which include everything from cell phones and accessories to security equipment and micro-informatics items. Below is a summary of the lots and their initial values:
- Lot 1: 942 cell phones and accessories – R$ 2,468.70
- Lot 2: 5,578 equipment of various types – R$ 5,346.87
- Lot 3: 10,967 micro-informatics items – R$ 16,420.06
- Lot 4: 1,858 security equipment – R$ 68,426.86
- Lot 5: 682 music, photography, and sports equipment – R$ 110,060.56
- Lot 6: 1,896 computer components – R$ 253,543.84
