Ludfor and Gebras Join Forces to Build Solar Plant in Pelotas (RS). Project Aims for Operation in 2026 and Reduces Emissions by 1,735 Tons of CO₂ Per Year.

Two giants in the energy sector, Ludfor and Gebras, have formalized a strategic partnership to build a solar plant in the municipality of Pelotas, in southern Rio Grande do Sul. The project is part of a joint venture established in 2024 and represents an important step towards expanding distributed generation in the country. With an installed capacity of 3.15 MWp, the plant is expected to start commercial operation in 2026.

Solar Plant Marks New Chapter in Partnership Between Ludfor and Gebras

The solar plant will have the capacity to generate over 4.3 million kWh per year, enough to power thousands of homes with clean energy.

Additionally, the venture will prevent the emission of approximately 1,735 tons of CO₂ annually, equivalent to the work of over 86,000 trees in carbon capture.

The goal is to accelerate the energy transition, uniting efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

The investment in Pelotas is the result of a joint effort between Ludfor and Gebras, which seek to expand the offering of renewable generation solutions.

Both companies have extensive experience in the sector and are distinguished by their strategic operations throughout the national territory.

“We believe that the advancement of centralized distributed generation is essential to make the energy transition a reality in Brazil, bringing efficiency, security, and sustainability to the entire system,” said Douglas Ludwig, Executive Director of Ludfor Energia.

The solar plant will play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing the environmental commitment of the companies involved.

The volume of CO₂ avoided through operation is equivalent to the average consumption of thousands of light vehicles in circulation per year.

Moreover, the project directly contributes to strengthening the Brazilian energy matrix with renewable sources, a crucial step to address climate change and promote sustainable development in the country.

Ludfor: Experience and Leadership in the Electric Sector

Based in Bento Gonçalves (RS) and present in 12 Brazilian capitals, the Ludfor Group already manages over 1.2 GW of average energy.

The company operates in areas such as energy management and commercialization, plant operation, specialized legal services, engineering, market intelligence, and investments in renewable sources.

Its diversified portfolio ensures comprehensive solutions for clients of different profiles, focusing on efficiency and innovation.

Gebras: Engineering and Energy Management with a Focus on Excellence

Officially founded in 2006, Gebras – Grupo Energia do Brasil is nationally recognized for its work in energy projects and industrial installations.

The company offers complete solutions in engineering, energy efficiency, and management of renewable sources, catering to major brands such as Ambev, Unimed, Oderich, Biscoitos Zezé, and Fruki.

Present in various sectors, from agribusiness to construction, Gebras stands out for its credibility, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to sustainable results.

With the New Solar Plant, Energy Transition Gains Momentum in the South of the Country

The construction of the new solar plant in Pelotas reinforces the leadership of Rio Grande do Sul in the renewable energy agenda.

The partnership between Ludfor and Gebras signals that the private sector is ready to lead the energy transformation process in Brazil.

With the start of operations expected in 2026, the hope is that this project will serve as a model for other sustainable initiatives in the country, combining innovation, positive environmental impact, and value generation.
