The city of Macaé maintained its position as the largest generator of job openings for the second consecutive year

Macaé is the City in Brazil that generates the most jobs, and retained his post for the second consecutive year. After all, the municipality recorded around 20,7 new job openings between 2021 and 2022. In this sense, in 2022 alone, 8,7 new job opportunities were generated in the oil, industry and oil and gas sectors.

Offshore segment, industry and commerce stood out in the generation of new job opportunities

The impressive numbers on job creation in the city of Macaé were obtained from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged). Among the segments that generated the most new job vacancies, offshore was the one that brought the most impressive data. After all, there were more than 5,7 new jobs in 2022 alone.

However, the industry and commerce sectors also contributed significantly to these Caged results. Within civil construction and industry, there were 4,8 new job opportunities, while commerce generated 1,1 new jobs.

The TEPOR project, for the construction of a new port in Macaé, will further increase the number of job openings

A good part of these job opportunities registered by Caged were driven by the oil and gas sector. However, the TEPOR project will make a great contribution to increasing the brand of new jobs.

But, after all, what is the TEPOR project?

In the words of the Secretary for Economic Development, Rodrigo Vianna, TEPOR is the key to making Macaé the great energy city. In the project for a new port in the city, which already has all the building permits, more than R$ 25 billion were invested.

Furthermore, it is estimated that this new infrastructure will be fundamental for the energy transition in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is worth noting that the investment was raised by the private sector. After all, it has a great interest in the benefit that this port can bring.

New fertilizer factory and Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN) promise new record in job creation

Macaé never stops and is always looking for new investments. Proof of this is that the municipality is experiencing a new stage of industrialization with the installation of a fertilizer factory and a Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN).

The viability of the fertilizer factory was approved in February, during a meeting between the mayor and the Executive Secretary of the National Council of Fertilizers and Plant Nutrition, Pedro Veillard Farias. Through this project, Macaé will be responsible for the national reduction of dependence on imported fertilizers.

The new Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN), together with TEPOR, will constitute the largest natural gas hub in Brazil. In this way, new jobs will be created in the oil and gas sector in the municipality.

In addition, the new Southeast Thermal Park to be built in the coming years will produce energy for 14 gas thermoelectric plants. Thus, another quota of thousands of job opportunities will be generated.
