The TEPOR Project for the Construction of a New Port in Macaé Will Further Increase Job Vacancies
Much of these job opportunities recorded by Caged were driven by the oil and gas sector. However, the TEPOR project will make a significant contribution to increasing the number of new jobs.
But what exactly is the TEPOR project?
According to the words of the Secretary of Economic Development, Rodrigo Vianna, TEPOR is the key to making Macaé the great energy city. In the project for a new port in the city, which already has all the construction licenses, over R$ 25 billion has been invested.
Additionally, it is estimated that this new infrastructure will be essential for the energy transition in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is worth noting that the investment was raised by the private sector. After all, it has great interest in the benefits that this port can bring.
New Fertilizer Factory and Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN) Promise a New Record in Job Creation
Macaé doesn’t stop and is always looking for new investments. Proof of this is that the municipality is experiencing a new stage of industrialization with the installation of a fertilizer factory and a Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN).
The viability of the fertilizer factory was approved in February during a meeting between the mayor and the Executive Secretary of the National Council of Fertilizers and Plant Nutrition, Pedro Veillard Farias. Through this project, Macaé will be responsible for reducing national dependence on fertilizer imports.
The new Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN), along with TEPOR, will constitute the largest natural gas hub in Brazil. Thus, new job vacancies will be fostered in the oil and gas sector in the municipality.
In addition, the new Southeast Thermal Park to be built in the coming years will produce energy for 14 gas-fired thermoelectric plants. Therefore, another allocation of thousands of job opportunities will be generated.
