Reactivation of the Mill at the Plant in Minas Gerais
The equipment has a capacity to produce 1 million tons/year of steel; however, the production will occur gradually and in line with market demand. Mills 1 and 2 of the plant in João Monlevade, Minas Gerais will continue developing special steels for the unit, which currently has an installed capacity of 1.2 million tons of steel per year.
For the operation of Mill 3, built in 2015, ArcelorMittal was waiting for improved market conditions. The purpose of the mill is to ensure full service to customers. Strong demand for steel, especially in the advancement of civil construction, and economic indicators have enabled the operation of the mill.
