Alongside the Government of the State of Maranhão, the company Elo Contact Center promises to provide 300 job positions for young people aged 18 to 24 in the capital, São Luís. The hiring process is expected to take place by August 20th. Simplício Araújo, Secretary of Industry, Commerce, and Energy, announced this Tuesday (10) the beginning of the selection process for new collaborators at Elo Contact Center.

Company Aims to Generate 700 Job Positions by the End of the Year

The company Coca-Cola is also participating in the partnership, joining Elo Contact Center in the Youth Work Program created by the State Government, aimed at providing job and income opportunities for young people in São Luís. According to the secretary, year after year, the state government has been creating actions to positively impact the economic lives of not only the residents of São Luís but all of Maranhão.

Initiatives such as Youth Work and the Entrepreneurial City have brought new hopes to the population, especially to the younger audience, which has suffered from a lack of opportunities before and after the pandemic.

The Youth Work Program is administered through the Secretary of Labor and Solidarity Economy (Setres), Seinc, Secretary of State for Education (Seduc), and the Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão (IEMA), and also receives support from the Secretary of Youth (SEJJUV), among other entities.

Established by Law No. 11,384 of December 16, 2020, and regulated by Decree No. 36,486 of February 10, 2021, the Youth Work Program aims to generate direct opportunities for young people from Maranhão through jobs, internships, income opportunities, courses, and scholarships. In total, more than 35,000 opportunities will be offered.
