Partnership Between Jabil and Newland Creates 500 New Job Opportunities at Factory in Betim, Promoting Economic Growth in Minas Gerais.
A major partnership was announced through the State Department of Economic Development (Sede-MG) and Invest Minas, promising to create about 500 job opportunities in the state by 2025. The agreement involves the Chinese company Newland Payment Technology and the American Jabil, operating in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The investment will be in Jabil’s factory in Betim.

The announcement was made at a closed event attended by directors of the involved companies and representatives of the Government of Minas.
During the ceremony, Newland’s new production line at Jabil’s factory in Betim was also inaugurated.

Impact of the Factory on the Job Market
The partnership between Jabil and Newland promises to create a variety of job opportunities across different sectors, related to the production of payment equipment, known as card machines.
The American company Jabil, already established in Betim, will manufacture payment terminals for Newland, including credit and debit card machines used in various commercial establishments.
Ronaldo Barquette, Director of Investment Attraction at Invest Minas, emphasized the positive impact of the partnership.
“The partnership between Jabil and Newland represents not only more investments and jobs for Minas Gerais but also adds more value and cutting-edge technology to this industry that is so important for our state,” said Barquette.

Jabil will be responsible for manufacturing payment terminals for Newland, which are widely used in points of sale, restaurants, gas stations, and other commercial services.
