Investments Are In The Order Of R$ 1 Billion And The New Plant Will Produce Ethanol Mainly From Corn

A group of investors from the United Arab Emirates wanted to allocate investments in an ethanol plant in the city of Rondonópolis, after one of their representatives recognized the city’s potential and expressed to Vice Mayor Aylon Arruda and the Secretary of Economic Development of the municipality, Alexsandro Silva, their intention to invest in ethanol in the third municipality of the State. The investment in ethanol will be based on the construction of a plant that will produce ethanol, using corn as the main component. The forecast is that about R$ 1 billion will be injected into Rondonópolis with the plant’s operations.

The entrepreneurs representing the group of Arab investors presented the project for the construction of the ethanol plant to the main corn producers in the southern region of the State. The objective of this investment is to explore long-term business partnerships, as the need for a large volume of raw material is imminent.

According to the investors, the minimum investment amount makes the ethanol business in the city feasible. The resources would come from a multimarket investment fund, a sovereign fund that helps to ensure, among other factors, food for Arabs and Muslims.

“We are consolidating ourselves as the largest importer and exporter in Mato Grosso and among the 20 cities that import the most in Brazil, and we cannot miss this moment,” analyzed, through his press office, Vice Mayor Aylon Arruda, reinforcing the intention to attract investment to the city.

Other Investments In Plants: Amazon Announces R$ 2 Million In Investments To Build Giant Solar Plant In Brazil And Generate Jobs

On Wednesday, the 21st, the multinational Amazon announced that it will invest in renewable energy to add 2.7 GW in production capacity through dozens of new projects around the world, including a solar plant in Brazil, with a promise to generate 850 new jobs.

The announcement of 71 new projects in the renewable energy sector, totaling now 379, comes with a focus on Amazon’s goal of using only clean energy in its operations by 2025.

Amazon plans to generate 50,000 Gigawatt-hours of clean energy through its entire portfolio. This energy is sufficient to supply 4.6 million homes in North America annually.

The new projects include, for example, three large-scale solar power plants in the Indian state of Rajasthan, with a capacity of 420 MW, solar energy projects on rooftops in France and Austria, and its first solar plant in Poland.

In addition to these projects, the multinational Amazon announced its first renewable energy project in South America, a solar power farm with a capacity of 122 MW.

The estimate is that the company will create 850 jobs in Brazil during the construction phase of the solar plant, with an additional 30 permanent jobs during the operation phase of the solar energy farm.

The multinational also stated that the project will receive investments of R$ 2 million in environmental programs during the construction of the solar plant, focusing on promoting biodiversity. Despite everything, Amazon did not disclose the construction location of the plant in the announcement.

According to data from August 2022, solar energy in Brazil has an installed capacity of 17 GW. Last year, the country ranked 14th in the world ranking in terms of installed solar power, with 13 GW, and was the 11th country that generated the most solar energy.

Brazil receives an insolation, that is, the number of hours of sunlight, exceeding 3,000 hours per year, with the Northeast region having an average incidence between 4.5 and 6 kWh. It is the country with the highest solar irradiation rate in the world.
