Denza, BYD’s Premium Brand, Arrives in Brazil with Own Operation, Plug-In Hybrid SUV, and Ambitious Plans by 2026.

The Brazilian market for premium cars is undergoing a new transformation with the arrival of Denza, the luxury brand linked to the BYD group.

The company confirmed that it will officially start its activities in the country on December 10, with the inauguration of its first dealership in São Paulo, specifically in the Jardins neighborhood, an area traditionally associated with high-end brands.

The announcement was made during the Automobile Salon, marking the beginning of an operation that aims to go beyond simple importation of electrified models.

Independent Operation Marks New Phase for Denza in the Country

Unlike other brands in the group, Denza will operate completely separately from BYD in Brazil.

The structure will have its own sales, marketing, product, and network development teams, reinforcing its premium positioning.

The operation will be led by Werner Schaal, an executive with experience in brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, which signals the pursuit of a high standard of service and commercial strategy.

Denza B5 SUV Will Be the First Model for Sale

The brand’s debut in Brazil will be made with the Denza B5, a plug-in hybrid SUV that combines off-road propositions, advanced technology, and refined finishing.

The model has been chosen as the brand’s calling card, serving as a showcase of its technical solutions.

According to the company, the B5 represents a new interpretation of luxury, combining structural robustness and versatility with energy efficiency.

Dimensions, Price, and Mechanical Set of the Denza B5

The Denza B5 measures 4,890 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, 1,920 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The price set for the Brazilian market is R$ 436,000.

The SUV uses the DMO hybrid platform, capable of delivering combined range of up to 1,200 km, according to the CLTC cycle. In fully electric mode, the range is between 90 and 100 km, favoring urban use.

Performance and Capabilities Reinforce Off-Road Profile

Even with a focus on efficiency, the Denza B5 stands out for its performance. The model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, a significant number within the segment.

The configuration includes hybrid all-wheel drive (EHS), three differential locks — front, rear, and center — as well as 16 driving modes tailored for different types of terrain. The towing capacity reaches 2,500 kg.

D9 Minivan Expands Denza’s Portfolio in Brazil

In addition to the SUV, Denza has already confirmed the upcoming arrival of the D9, a minivan that is expected to broaden the brand’s presence in the country.

The model is scheduled for release in the second half of next year.

The goal is to compete with vehicles like the Kia Carnival and imported versions of the Chrysler Pacifica, with an estimated price in the range of R$ 800,000.

Z9 GT Arrives Later Targeting High-End Sports Cars

Another confirmed model is the Denza Z9 GT, a shooting brake with a sporty design and over 5.18 meters in length.

The car directly references competitors like the Porsche Panamera.

The arrival in Brazil is expected in the first half of 2026, with an estimated price around R$ 650,000.

Denza’s Strategy Focuses on Growth of Electrified Vehicles

With its own operation and a portfolio focused on innovation, Denza targets consumers looking for electrified luxury vehicles without giving up performance and exclusivity.

The brand sees Brazil as a strategic market and intends to gradually expand its network of dealerships, consolidating its presence among the top options in the premium segment.
