Navy Announces Exam With Over 600 Middle School Level Vacancies for Apprentice Sailors

The Navy Competition Offers 686 Positions for Men and Women; Just Be Aged Between 18 and 21 Years and Height of 1.54 to 2 Meters 

The Brazilian Navy will open a competition with 686 positions for admission to the School of Apprentice Sailors. This year, both men and women will be able to compete for the positions: there are 638 positions aimed at the male sex and 48 positions for the female sex. The prerequisites to participate in the Navy competition and compete for the positions are to have completed high school, a height between 1.54 and 2 meters, and an age between 18 years old and under 22 years old by June 30, 2023.

The Navy training course will last 48 weeks and will be in a boarding school format. The course will take place in Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE), Olinda (PE), and Vila Velha (ES), at the Schools of Apprentice Sailors in those municipalities. 

Those who obtain the positions will take technical courses in electronics, support, or mechanics during the training and must specify which area they wish to pursue during the competition registration. During the course, the Navy provides students with uniforms, meals, and medical, dental, psychological, and other assistance. Additionally, there will be a remuneration of R$ 1,398.30. At the end of the course, apprentices will have to commit to two years of service. After these two years, they will become sailors, with a salary of R$ 2,294.50.

How to Enroll in the Navy Competition 

To participate in the Navy competition, interested individuals must register from 8 a.m. on March 28, 2022, until 11:59 p.m. on April 10, 2022, through the Navy’s website. The registration fee is R$ 40.00, and it must be paid by April 14, 2022, during banking hours. 

The competition will have seven stages, which are: 

• Objective Test, Eliminatory and Qualifying; 
• Verification of Biographical Data and Document Verification, Eliminatory; 
• Health Inspection, Eliminatory; 
• Physical Aptitude Test for Admission, Eliminatory; 
• Psychological Evaluation; 
• Heteroidentification Procedure. 

The objective test stage will take place on June 5, 2022, and will last four hours. The test will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions in the subjects of Portuguese language, English language, mathematics, and sciences.
