According to the MEC, the Professional Master’s Degree Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT) is aimed at professionals with degrees in various fields who wish to specialize.
The application deadline has been reopened and now ends on January 10, 2025, providing more time for interested parties to participate in the selection process.
The application fee is R$ 160.00, and the selection process takes place through the National Access Exam (ENA) 2024/2025.
Goals and Research Areas
ProfEPT seeks to meet the growing demand for continuing education in Brazil. According to information released by the MEC, the program has the following main goals:
- Develop interdisciplinary investigations focused on professional and technological education;
- Contribute to the socioeconomic and cultural development of the country;

Candidates can choose between two main research lines:
Educational Practices in Professional and Technological Education: aimed at curricular development and implementation of innovative teaching methods.
Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces: focused on the documentation and organization of spaces that promote better teaching and learning conditions.

The program offers a total of 656 spots, half of which are reserved for staff from the Associated Institutions of the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education.
The spots are distributed among various educational institutions located in different Brazilian states. Among the main highlights are:
- CEFET-MG – Divinópolis Campus: 6 spots;
- IFES – Vitória Campus: 11 spots;
- IFPB – João Pessoa Campus: 10 spots;
- IFSC – Florianópolis Campus: 10 spots;
- IFRS – Porto Alegre Campus: 11 spots.
Other institutions are also participating, including the Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), among others.
