Program Details and Application Deadline
According to the MEC, the Postgraduate Program in Professional Masters in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT) is aimed at professionals with degrees in different areas who wish to specialize.
The registration period has been reopened and now closes on 10 January 2025, offering more time for interested parties to participate in the selection process.
The registration fee is R$160,00, and the selection process takes place through the National Access Exam (ENA) 2024/2025.
Objectives and lines of research
ProfEPT seeks to meet the growing demand for continuing education in Brazil. According to information released by the MEC, the program's main objectives are:
- Develop interdisciplinary research focused on professional and technological education;
- Contribute to socioeconomic and cultural development from the country;
- Improve educational practices, focusing on improving the organization of pedagogical spaces and educational processes.
Candidates can choose between two main research lines:
Educational practices in professional and technological education: aimed at curricular development and implementation of innovative teaching methods.
Organization and memories of pedagogical spaces: focused on documenting and organizing spaces that promote better teaching and learning conditions.
Vacancies and regional distribution
The program offers a total of 656 vacancies, half of which are reserved for employees of the Associated Institutions of the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education.
The vacancies are distributed among several educational institutions, located in different Brazilian states. The main highlights include:
- CEFET-MG – Divinopolis Campus: 6 vacancies;
- IFES – Vitoria Campus: 11 vacancies;
- IFPB – João Pessoa Campus: 10 vacancies;
- IFSC – Florianopolis Campus: 10 vacancies;
- IFRS – Porto Alegre Campus: 11 vacancies.
Other institutions also participate, including the Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), among others.
