During this period, participants will need to take six mandatory subjects, in addition to one elective, seminars, and the defense of a Final Course Project (TCC). In some institutions, proficiency in a foreign language may be required as a criterion for approval.

- São Paulo State University (UNESP), Marília – SP: 14 slots

- Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Juiz de Fora – MG: 15 slots
- Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP), Macapá – AP: 20 slots
This distribution of slots facilitates the participation of professionals from various regions, allowing teachers from different states to join the in-person course in their locality.
Selection Process: Stages and Criteria
The selection of candidates for the free MEC course PROFSOCIO will be conducted in two stages. The first phase consists of evaluating the letter of intentions, which will account for 40% of the final score. In this letter, candidates should present their professional and academic background, along with a research proposal aligned with the teaching of sociology.
In the second stage, the defense of the letter of intentions will take place virtually through a video call, lasting up to 30 minutes. The defense will account for 60% of the final score. To pass, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 7 in both phases. Although there are no reserved slots for quotas, some institutions may adopt affirmative action policies.
Who Can Apply for the Free MEC Course
The slots are exclusively targeted at teachers working in the public basic education network, in the fields of Human Sciences and Social Applied Sciences. Additionally, candidates must hold a recognized degree and diploma from MEC.
Applications should be made online, requiring candidates to have access to the internet and devices with a camera for the virtual stages. The application fee is R$ 100.00.
