Renault Triber: The Compact Minivan That Revolutionizes The Automotive Industry With Seven Real Seats, Great Fuel Efficiency Of Up To 20 Km/L, And Competitive Pricing. Meet The New Renault Car Ideal For Families Seeking Space And Economy

The automotive industry has just received a new model that draws attention for its innovative proposal, fuel economy, and surprising capacity for its size. The new car from Renault, named Renault Triber, is a compact minivan with seating for seven passengers and an estimated fuel consumption of up to 20 km per liter on the highway. The novelty arrives with a functional design, good interior space, and competitive pricing — characteristics that make it stand out in the family compact vehicle segment.

Ideal for large families or those in need of extra space in their daily lives, the model fills a gap in the Brazilian market: a small car on the outside, but spacious on the inside, with an efficient engine and a good offering of onboard technology. In this analysis, we will understand why the minivan of the Renault Kwid might be the right choice for those seeking versatility without giving up on fuel economy.

Renault Triber: What Is The Minivan Of The Renault Kwid?

The Renault Triber is built on the CMF-A+ platform, an elongated variation of the same base used in the Renault Kwid. Therefore, it has become known as the minivan of the Renault Kwid, although it has its own characteristics and a completely distinct focus.

The Triber was initially developed for the Indian market, where it became one of the best-selling vehicles in its category by combining interior space, low fuel consumption, and accessible maintenance.

Measuring just 3.99 meters in length, the Renault Triber manages to offer seven real seats, something unprecedented in this entry-level category.

Its wheelbase of 2.63 meters ensures good space for passengers in the second row, while the third row can accommodate two adults on short trips or children on longer journeys. Modularity is another asset: the third-row seats can be removed individually, allowing for multiple configurations for carrying cargo or passengers.

Even though it is smaller than the Renault Kardian and cheaper than the Kwid in some versions, the Triber offers clever space solutions. The trunk, for example, can range from 84 liters (with seven seats) to 625 liters (with five seats), making it extremely versatile for urban day-to-day use and family trips.

Performance And Efficiency: Up To 20 Km Per Liter

One of the aspects that attract consumers to the Triber is its fuel consumption. Equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, the car achieves up to 20 km/l on the highway and around 14 km/l in urban use, according to data released by specialized vehicles based on tests with ethanol and gasoline.

Despite its modest power — 72 horsepower and 9.8 kgfm of torque — the Triber performs well in urban stretches, thanks to the good gearing of the five-speed manual transmission. There are also versions with an automatic AMT transmission, which prioritize comfort in heavy traffic situations.

It is important to highlight that the Triber was designed to offer a balance between performance and economy. It is not a sports car or aimed at high performance, but rather an efficient solution for urban commuting and travel focused on fuel economy and transporting several people.

Additionally, due to its lightweight (just over 950 kg), the engine manages to deliver enough agility in accelerations and overtakes, especially when the vehicle has fewer occupants.

Design And Technology In The Current Automotive Industry

Even being an entry-level model, the Renault Triber features a modern appearance aligned with the brand’s design language. At the front, the headlights with LED signature and the honeycomb chrome grille refer to more expensive Renault models. The raised bumper with matte black details reinforces the adventurous aspect of the model, especially in versions with a sportier visual appeal.

Inside, the dashboard has a simple but functional finish. The standout feature is the 8-inch multimedia center, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. There is also a digital screen in the instrument panel that displays consumption, range, and onboard computer information.

Other items present in more complete versions include digital air conditioning, keyless entry with push-button start, rear parking sensors, and even rearview cameras — features that are not common in vehicles of the same price range.

In terms of safety, the Triber offers front and side airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, and Isofix anchorage for child seats. In some markets, there are also electronic stability control (ESP) and hill start assist.

Competitiveness And Price: New Renault Car With Affordable Cost

When it comes to cost-benefit, the Renault Triber has a strong commercial appeal. In India, where it has been sold for several years, the model starts at the equivalent of R$ 45,000, reaching R$ 65,000 in the more equipped versions.

In Brazil, there is still no official launch date or set price, but expectations are that the model will be priced around R$ 80,000 — which would make it cheaper than the Kwid itself in its electric version and much more accessible than compact SUVs with seven seats.

This pricing positioning is one of the key differentiators in Renault’s strategy. The brand knows there is a pent-up demand for larger cars, but with the price of compact hatches. Therefore, the Triber can attract consumers who previously sought used minivans, such as Spin, Idea, or Grand Livina, but wish for a new, economical model with a factory warranty.

The automotive industry is keeping a close eye on this trend, as the success of the Triber could prompt competitors to resume similar projects, investing in small vehicles with increased passenger capacity — something that was abandoned with the rise of SUVs.

Versatility And Safety: Consumer Priorities

One of the points that make the Renault Triber unique in its category is its adaptability. The vehicle can be used both as a family minivan and as a compact urban vehicle with a large trunk.

The ability to remove the third-row seats allows the user to adjust the space as needed — ideal for those who alternate between transporting passengers and cargo.

Furthermore, due to its widely known mechanical components from the Renault-Nissan line, the Triber promises simple and affordable maintenance, further enhancing its appeal. Replacement parts and technical assistance already available for the Kwid and Sandero should be compatible with the model, reducing costs in the long run.

In terms of safety, the Triber’s structure has already been tested in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP in India. The model received two stars for adults and three for children — results that are consistent with the category and with compact cars sold in Brazil.

In an increasingly demanding scenario, where consumers seek efficiency, space, connectivity, and fair pricing, the Renault Triber presents itself as an innovative and promising alternative. The minivan of the Renault Kwid combines attributes that are typically not found in compact cars: seven seats, modularity, low consumption, and a good technology package.

If confirmed for Brazil, the new Renault car has the potential to be a game-changer within the category, catering to families, rideshare drivers, and small entrepreneurs who need a versatile vehicle. The automotive industry in Brazil could, with this launch, rediscover a little-explored niche, but with high growth potential.
