With a suggested price of R$ 222,990, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross HPE-S 4×4 2026 positions itself as the most affordable option among mid-size SUVs with all-wheel drive.
The model is slightly larger than the Jeep Compass, its main competitor, offering 4,545 mm in length and 2,670 mm in wheelbase.
Another positive point is the trunk space of 473 liters, which surpasses direct rivals like the Compass (410 liters). Moreover, the “sloped” design does not compromise interior comfort, providing a good sense of space and an airy cabin.

Technology and Finishing: Strengths and Weaknesses
Despite good handling, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross HPE-S 2026 still carries outdated solutions in its interior.
The lack of a digital dashboard and air conditioning vents for the rear seats may disappoint consumers accustomed to more modern technologies.
As a way to compensate, Mitsubishi equipped the SUV with a Head-Up Display, which projects basic information in front of the driver. Though simple, the feature performs its function well in daily use.
On the other hand, the ergonomics of some controls, such as mirror adjustments and HUD buttons, are not the most intuitive, requiring more attention from the driver.
Efficient Turbo Engine
Under the hood, the SUV features a 1.5 turbo 4B40 gasoline engine, with 165 hp of power and 25.5 kgfm of torque, coupled to a CVT automatic transmission that simulates eight gears.
The setup offers good performance for the category, although it does not reach the sporting level of competitors like the Compass Blackhawk 2.0 Hurricane, which delivers 272 hp.
The great balance, however, lies in the cost-benefit ratio: while rivals exceed the R$ 270,000 range, the Eclipse Cross remains at a more accessible level, competing even with top compact SUVs like the Nissan Kicks Platinum and Honda HR-V Turing.
Challenges in the Brazilian Market
Even with standout attributes, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross HPE-S 2026 is still rarely seen on the streets. In 2024, only 8,301 units were registered in Brazil, a number far lower than the performance of the Jeep Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross.
Experts point out that the main obstacle is the brand’s lack of investment in advertising. Little publicity means that the SUV does not receive the same attention from the public, despite delivering a complete package of comfort, 4×4 traction, performance, and competitive price.
