Discover the History of Mobylette

Mobylette is a model that existed in France and was produced by Motobécane, making its way to Brazil in the late 20th century through Caloi. At that time, these mopeds featured 49.9 cubic centimeter engines and delivered only 3 horsepower.

Mobilete was a name given in the 70s and 80s to every moped sold in the market. The mobiletes were merely mopeds sold by Caloi, and a few years later, brands like Monark found the public recognizing their models by the competitor’s name, creating an iconic association with the term mobilete. Back then, many young people dreamed of owning a moped due to the lack of specific regulations for the vehicle.
