MTR Solar Signs Contract for 132 MW Monitoring with TECSCI for 39 Plants of Ineer Energia, Using the SCADA Solution for Solar Energy Optimization.

MTR Solar has entered into an agreement for monitoring 132 MW of solar energy with TECSCI, involving 39 plants from Ineer Energia. The partnership includes the implementation of the SCADA solution, which will allow for the optimization of solar energy generation and significantly reduce operational costs.

This contract highlights MTR Solar’s commitment to innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies to maximize the efficiency of solar installations. Especially in the context of clean energy, the company already has over 1.8 GWp installed across 620 plants, reinforcing its leadership in the renewable energy sector. Thus, MTR Solar continues to expand its influence in the energy market, promoting an increasingly sustainable future with photovoltaic energy.

served with over 2.8 million installed modules.

Contracts and Partnerships in the Solar Energy Sector

Brazil, September 12, 2024 – Grupo MTR, one of the leading distributors of equipment and solutions for solar energy plants in the country, through its technology company TECSCI, has signed a significant contract for the supply of 132 MWp in monitoring for the investment plants of Ineer Energia. Ineer Energia belongs to Grupo Mendes, a conglomerate that operates in various sectors, such as shopping malls, real estate developments, services, and energy, headquartered in Baixada Santista. This agreement, signed during Intersolar South America 2024, includes the implementation of the SCADA Solution (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), aiming to standardize the monitoring and management of the plants in Ineer Energia’s portfolio, encompassing all plants in operation and construction.

There are 39 plants in the shared generation model, totaling an installed capacity that exceeds 132 MWp. In the photovoltaic energy market, MTR Solar has already reached the mark of 1.8 GWp (Gigawatt-peak) installed, serving 620 plants with over 2.8 million installed modules. MTR’s main clients include traders, investment funds, and investors who see the solar energy sector as a strategic field for allocating resources in infrastructure, a segment that has grown rapidly and stands out above the Selic rate.

Platforms and Monitoring Technologies

The Management and Monitoring Platform for photovoltaic plants, also developed by TECSCI, has the main objective of increasing energy generation. This is done by applying artificial intelligence to identify faults as quickly as possible and directing the O&M team to the necessary corrective action, thus increasing the plant’s availability time. This monitoring platform covers all equipment that supports communication via MODBUS TCP/IP, collecting information, analyzing histories, predicting future data, and alerting about equipment failures in real-time, which minimizes the plant’s downtime.

The new Monitoring Platform has been operational since late 2023 at the Avelar 1 and 2 Plants of BRS, located in Rio de Janeiro. This implementation is already resulting in an operational savings of at least 10% per month across the entire plant. Additionally, the agreement between the companies also covers automation, with the supply of control panels, allowing users to control the metering cabins and remotely reset the plant.

Market and Prospects for Solar Energy

‘We have been with Grupo Mendes since the company’s entry into the Distributed Generation segment. The plants of Ineer rely on 100% of MTR solutions, from the equipment, through construction and certification, and now also with monitoring, aiming for high-efficiency generation. Our goal is to have the equipment available for as long as possible to ensure that the plant is highly profitable’*
, emphasizes the CEO of Grupo MTR, Thiago Rios.

‘We are experiencing great acceptance in the market by offering complete solutions for ground-mounted solar plants. We have all the necessary equipment and structures, manufactured in-house at our factories in Juiz de Fora/MG, such as the tracker and the power center, and we also work with the largest global manufacturers of inverters and modules.

We launched our artificial intelligence-based ground plant management system at the end of last year and, just weeks ago, our Agro Vertical, with hybrid solutions for energy savings in agribusiness. Unlike in 2023, we noticed that our customer has changed and is acquiring complete, ‘one-stop-shop’ solutions, with all equipment from a single supplier, in this case, MTR. We offer a complete combo for solar energy. We expect to grow even more in 2025 with our entry into centralized generation’, comments Thiago.

Experience and Dedication to Renewable Energies

The Head of Energy at Grupo Mendes, Valdez Lopes, explains that since 2007 they had been purchasing energy from the Free Market, but prices, which are very similar to captive market prices, along with the difficulties faced by the shopping sector during the pandemic, drove the company to invest in distributed generation. Valdez highlighted the relationship of trust: ‘MTR Solar is a very close partner. With 200 clients in the base and 52 MW sold, all in the interior of São Paulo, in cities like Boituva and Porto Feliz, Grupo Mendes faces the challenge of breaking the paradigm of the need for loyalty contracts and other similar approaches before installation. During Intersolar 2024, TECSCI announced the first 100% national manufactured Solar Tracker controller.

With remote activation and monitoring of all tracker variables using the TECSCI platform, and specialized national technical support, the company estimates a reduction of up to 33% in operational costs for plants that adopt this technology. The Solar Tracker controller from TECSCI is designed to optimize the capture of solar energy, automatically adjusting the panels’ position concerning the sun throughout the day.

Innovations and Technological Advancements

‘This launch represents not only a significant technological advancement for the solar energy sector in the region but also an incentive for the national industry, promoting autonomy and innovation in the renewable energy market. TECSCI’s proposal is to contribute to the expansion of clean energy in Latin America, helping to make operations more efficient and competitive’, says the CEO of MTR Solar.

Expectations are that with this innovation, solar plants will be able to not only reduce costs but also increase energy generation capacity, contributing to greater savings for the client and promoting a more sustainable future. 100% national technology:

– Manufacturing unit with 1600m²;
– Production capacity of 2000 units per month (6 MWp per day) with expansion possibility;
– Communication based on the LoRaWAN protocol, reaching up to 3 km and up to 500 TCUs per NCU;
Encrypted communication between devices to ensure information security;
– Remote activation and monitoring of the trackers using the TECSCI platform;
– Battery with up to 20 hours of autonomy;
– Backtracking technology;
– Multi-level wind protection;
– National commissioning and support with experience from over 1 GW of projects.
