Environmental Impacts Related To Water Consumption
According To The Environmental Impact Report – “Regarding the impacts due to water consumption, the studies carried out confirm the water availability of the Tietê River, warranting some reflections on UGRHI 13 (Tietê – Jacaré), which registered significant demand values for industrial use, due to the presence of important agribusinesses in the region. The discharge of treated liquid effluents into the Tietê River will not alter the water quality of the Tietê River, meeting legal standards of CONAMA and state regulations, especially Decree 8468/76 and subsequent amendments. This is extremely positive, considering the multiple uses of water, as the water intake and discharge of treated effluents will not affect fishing activities or the water quality of the Tietê River.” See the complete report in PDF on Bracell’s website here.
