The multinational Gestamp, a reference in the automotive sector, announced on February 28 that it will open a new selection process for direct job vacancies with the construction of its new factory in the city of Piracicaba. The Gestamp unit, which will receive an investment of R$ 100 million, is looking for professionals mainly in the areas of tooling and engineering.
Job Vacancies at the New Factory Impact the Economy
The announcement was made on Friday (28) during a meeting at the Civic Center with the attendance of Mayor Helinho Zanatta, the Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, Thais Fornicola, and company representatives.
According to Zanatta, the arrival of Gestamp’s new factory represents a great opportunity for workers in the region in the automotive sector.

However, the expectation is to serve other clients from the new factory, which is projected to start production in the fourth quarter of this year, according to Gestamp’s commercial manager, specialized in high-engineering metallic components, Daniara do Nascimento.
New Factory Will Be Installed on a 111 Thousand Sq M Lot
Gestamp has not yet released details about the selection process for job vacancies at the new unit in the automotive sector, but the expectation is that opportunities will be opened as the construction of the factory progresses.

According to Daniara, one of the most important points of the new factory was to understand and adapt to the customer’s characteristics, identifying differentials that could be offered, in this case, the hot stamping technology, which can reduce the weight of the structure that shapes the car by about 20%. The land where the new automotive factory will be installed has 111 thousand square meters and is expected to initially house a factory of 16 thousand m².

The expectation is to create 150 job vacancies initially; however, it is anticipated that this number will reach 500 in two years, according to data from the Metalworkers Union of Piracicaba and Region.
New Unit in Piracicaba Should Bring Revenue of R$ 1.5 Billion to Gestamp
With this partnership, Gestamp totals nine automakers served in Brazil. In addition to Hyundai, the list includes Volkswagen, Stellantis, General Motors, Stellantis, Honda, Renault, Toyota, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz.
Gestamp has been in Brazil since 1997 and has seven production units located in Betim, Sorocaba, Santa Isabel, Taubaté, São José dos Pinhais, and Gravataí. The company is a Spanish multinational specialized in the development and production of metallic components for the automotive sector, providing parts for major automakers. With the new factory in Piracicaba, the company projects revenue of R$ 1.5 billion in the next five years.
