Gestamp Announces New Factory to Serve the Brazilian Automotive Sector. Venture Will Receive About US$ 100 Million in Investments and Promises to Generate Hundreds of Jobs, check it out!

The multinational Gestamp, a reference in the automotive sector, announced on February 28 that it will open a new selection process for direct job vacancies with the construction of its new factory in the city of Piracicaba. The Gestamp unit, which will receive an investment of R$ 100 million, is looking for professionals mainly in the areas of tooling and engineering.

Job Vacancies at the New Factory Impact the Economy

The announcement was made on Friday (28) during a meeting at the Civic Center with the attendance of Mayor Helinho Zanatta, the Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, Thais Fornicola, and company representatives.

According to Zanatta, the arrival of Gestamp’s new factory represents a great opportunity for workers in the region in the automotive sector.

According to the mayor, with this new factory, the job market in Piracicaba will be expanded. The mission is to ensure that the municipality continues to attract large investments and companies, generating job vacancies and income for the population. According to Thais Fornicola, the city administration is working to boost local economic development.

Fornicola emphasizes that a favorable environment for investments is being developed, such as this new factory in the automotive sector, which brings not only technology but also job vacancies for the workers of Piracicaba. It is worth mentioning that Gestamp has been named a global supplier for Hyundai, and the new factory will be installed close to the company’s facilities.

However, the expectation is to serve other clients from the new factory, which is projected to start production in the fourth quarter of this year, according to Gestamp’s commercial manager, specialized in high-engineering metallic components, Daniara do Nascimento.

New Factory Will Be Installed on a 111 Thousand Sq M Lot

Gestamp has not yet released details about the selection process for job vacancies at the new unit in the automotive sector, but the expectation is that opportunities will be opened as the construction of the factory progresses.

Those interested should follow the official channels of the company and the City Hall of Piracicaba for more information about applications and participation criteria.

According to Daniara, one of the most important points of the new factory was to understand and adapt to the customer’s characteristics, identifying differentials that could be offered, in this case, the hot stamping technology, which can reduce the weight of the structure that shapes the car by about 20%. The land where the new automotive factory will be installed has 111 thousand square meters and is expected to initially house a factory of 16 thousand m².

To check the job vacancies available so far, interested parties can access the official company website.

The expectation is to create 150 job vacancies initially; however, it is anticipated that this number will reach 500 in two years, according to data from the Metalworkers Union of Piracicaba and Region.

New Unit in Piracicaba Should Bring Revenue of R$ 1.5 Billion to Gestamp

With this partnership, Gestamp totals nine automakers served in Brazil. In addition to Hyundai, the list includes Volkswagen, Stellantis, General Motors, Stellantis, Honda, Renault, Toyota, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz.

Gestamp has been in Brazil since 1997 and has seven production units located in Betim, Sorocaba, Santa Isabel, Taubaté, São José dos Pinhais, and Gravataí. The company is a Spanish multinational specialized in the development and production of metallic components for the automotive sector, providing parts for major automakers. With the new factory in Piracicaba, the company projects revenue of R$ 1.5 billion in the next five years.
