During the NavalShore 2022 event, which concluded last Thursday (08/18), the company Schottel, focused on vessel equipment, announced that construction of its new factory located in Itajaí, in the Santa Catarina region, is already well underway. In addition, the company discussed the future of the national market and stated that the new facility will be essential for the growth of sales in the national naval industry.

Schottel Company Announced Updates On The New Factory’s Construction In Itajaí And The Future Of The Naval Industry During Its Participation In NavalShore 2022

Headquartered in Germany and participating in the global naval scene, Schottel, a manufacturer of azimuth propulsion systems and provider of complete conventional propulsion packages, recently attended the NavalShore 2022 fair and discussed the future of business in Brazil.

The highlight of the participation was the new factory being built in the Itajaí region, a city located in the state of Santa Catarina.

Thus, Schottel stated that the construction of the new facility is progressing well and that the new factory will be responsible for integrating the repair, storage, and administration sectors. The structure is being planned in conjunction with the new office in Rio de Janeiro and the subsidiary in Colombia, which will allow for even greater growth in the American naval industry.

David Souza, the commercial manager of Schottel in Brazil, commented on the focus of the new facilities and stated that they will be aimed at after-sales services, with more flexibility than ever.

“The high quality of our product, combined with the commitment to being locally present when our client needs us, are the hallmarks of our success,” said David Souza. The executive added: “In the medium and even long term, we expect a growing demand that should come from hybrid and sustainable propulsion, addressing ecological and regulatory issues. Companies that want to comply with the market and global regulations will need to adapt to the new rules, and for that, we are already preparing.”

German Company Highlights Recovery Of The Naval Industry And Expects The New Factory In Itajaí To Boost Sales Growth In The National Market

After the international instability situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the geopolitical conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, Schottel believes that the global naval industry is now achieving a good recovery and warming up.

In Brazil, the company’s commercial manager highlighted the growing ATB (Tugboat and Articulated Barge) market in cabotage and the construction of tugboats with higher “bollard pull.” The inland waterway market, which is now seeking new technological innovations, was also emphasized.

During the NavalShore fair, he was able to notice the new growth perspective in demand for the national naval industry, with new clients on the horizon for the coming months. Thus, the construction of the new factory in Itajaí will be essential to meet this growing market, and the accelerated works ensure a projection of new business opportunities in the national market soon.

During the event, Schottel showcased all models of propellers such as the Schottel Controllable Propeller, the Pump Jet, the EcoPeller, but mainly its flagship: the Schottel Rudder Propeller, in addition to discussing the future of the national naval industry. Now, the company continues its investments in the construction and prepares the ground for new ventures in the country.
