During Live News Broadcast on YouTube, Disturbing Images Replaced Official Broadcast for Three Minutes
A mysterious video interrupted the signal of Record News on YouTube on Tuesday night (29), surprising viewers during “News 19 Hours.” The news broadcast, hosted by Rafael Algarte, was interrupted by a sequence of distorted images, warped faces, and enigmatic phrases such as “YOU WILL SEE SUCH PRETTY THINGS” and “YOU ARE ILL”.
The network confirmed that there was a technical failure and that the case is under investigation. The content displayed refers to the famous internet video called “The Wyoming Incident”, a supposed televised hacker attack that has become part of creepypasta culture due to its disturbing aesthetics and narrative ambiguity.
What Was Shown During the Signal Invasion
The interruption occurred at 7:33 PM, during the live broadcast of the news on YouTube. Instead of the news program, a low-resolution video emerged, featuring deformed faces, distorced audio, and subliminal messages in English, causing immediate confusion among viewers.

The displayed phrases, such as “WHY DO YOU HATE?” and “YOU ARE ILL”, follow the pattern of the original video that has circulated on the internet since 2006. The aesthetics are intentionally uncomfortable, using noise, visual flashes, and almost indecipherable snippets. After about three minutes, the programming returned to normal, but the recording published later on the channel no longer contained the altered segment.
What Is “The Wyoming Incident”
The original video, known as “The Wyoming Incident,” is a digital legend simulating a hacker attack on a local broadcaster in the United States. Although fictional, it has become one of the most widespread examples of audiovisual creepypasta, aiming to provoke psychological distress in viewers.
The technique involves the use of abstract phrases and visual expressions that suggest indirect threats, disorientation, and visual and auditory discomfort. The version displayed on the Record News channel followed this same logic, which led many internet users to recognize the reference and comment on it on social media.
How Record News Responded to the Incident
In a statement sent to the press, Record News informed that the failure affected only the transmission on YouTube. The network declared:
“Record News identified a failure in the YouTube broadcast during the News 19 broadcast on Tuesday (29). Our IT team is working to discover the origin of the problem, and we are also in contact with the YouTube team to understand what happened.”
According to the company, the signals for free-to-air TV and cable TV were not impacted. The technical team is continuing to investigate whether there was a compromise of the broadcaster’s account on the platform or an external failure in the video ingestion system.
Reactions on Social Media and Theories About the Invasion
Shortly after the video aired, internet users took to social media to report the incident. On X (formerly Twitter), hashtags such as #RecordNewsHack and #WyomingIncident reached the trending topics. Some users speculated about a possible hacker attack, while others believe it could have been an internal automation error.
More conspiracy theories also emerged, referencing subliminal messages, mind control, and even cyberwarfare simulations. So far, there is no concrete evidence of an external invasion, but the case remains under investigation.
The airing of a video with strong symbolic content and horror aesthetics on a news channel raises various hypotheses. Do you think it was just an operational failure? Or is there something more behind this interruption?
Share your opinion in the comments — especially if you saw the live broadcast or know the original video.
