Are You Looking For A Cheap Toyota Car? Meet The Toyota Fielder, Which Has Been Highlighting Itself Among Used Cars In The Brazilian Automotive Market In Recent Years.

The station wagons have disappeared from the Brazilian automotive market, and currently, the only options are the extravagant Audi RS6 Avant and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Among the models that have disappeared is the Toyota Fielder. This is a cheap Toyota car that has not been manufactured for about 16 years and whose vast majority have hundreds of thousands of kilometers on the clock.

Why Buy A Used Toyota Fielder In 2024?

It is worth mentioning that the cheap Toyota car shares with the Corolla the reputation for robustness and reliability, backed by an authorized network known for the quality of service and support even after warranty.

The wide availability of original or aftermarket parts, along with the relative mechanical simplicity in the automotive market, contributes to it being highly regarded by independent workshops.

Therefore, it is very common to find a Toyota Fielder in great condition, even after many years of good service. Measuring 8 cm less than the sedan, this cheap car brings the same interior space, able to comfortably fit three adults in the reclining back seat. The 26 liters less in the trunk of 411 liters are offset by the practicality of the large rear hatch.

Between the 2005 and 2007 models, the Toyota Fielder only had one version and one option, the four-speed automatic transmission, which paired well with the 1.8 engine with variable timing producing 136 horsepower.

The model offered air conditioning, front airbags, ABS, alloy wheels, a CD player, and electric windows, but fell short on the lack of a trip computer and cruise control. In 2006, fog lights became standard.

What To Notice When Buying A Toyota Fielder?

Although it is a cheap Toyota car in the Brazilian automotive market, it is essential to pay attention to some points when considering the Toyota Fielder.

The 1ZZFE engine does not use hydraulic lifters, and therefore, the valve clearance should be checked every 20,000 km, with mandatory adjustment at 60,000 km. Smoke from the exhaust indicates a failure in the valve seals. Wear on the tripod joints causes vibrations in the front wheels even after balancing.

One of its strong points is the suspension, and therefore, it is often neglected. Shock absorbers with leaks and torn boots are not a good sign, and abnormal noises can be caused by the wear of bushings and bump stops. Most have lost the original internal plastic finish, which is fragile and breaks easily.

Its presence is a sign of care from the owner, as it prevents the accumulation of debris and noise at high speeds. The automatic transmission fluid should be checked at 40,000 km, along with changing the filter and cleaning the magnets that trap the shavings.

Which Is The Best Unit Of The Cheap Toyota Car To Buy?

Those planning to buy a Toyota Fielder can do so with confidence, regardless of the version or type of transmission, as long as the automatic and electrical systems are in good condition. Beautiful, robust, and comfortable, the cheap Toyota car costs around R$ 35,000.

With all the qualities mentioned above, it is normal to find units with over 200,000 km in excellent shape.

The first rule, if opting for the version with an automatic transmission, is to check if the transmission fluid has been changed within the correct time frame. Maintenance, which consists of cleaning the magnets that retain shavings, along with changing the filter and fluid, should be done every 40,000 km.
