The experience is fully interactive. Motion sensors allow the holograms to react to people’s presence, making the tour dynamic and surprising. In one of the rooms, a 30-meter humpback whale swims over the heads of visitors, while in another, a T-Rex appears to walk alongside you.
The Company That Made Science Fiction a Reality
The mind behind this innovation is Axiom Holographics, an Australian company founded by Bruce Dell. The company, which began its journey in 2010 under the name Euclideon, developed algorithms that drastically reduced the computing power (and cost) required to create high-quality holograms.
This optimization enabled Axiom to produce the technology at about 5% of the cost of its competitors, making it feasible to create large-scale attractions like the Hologram Zoo and expanding its use to areas like defense, health, and education.
A Global Expansion in Record Time
The success of the concept was immediate. After the launch of the first unit in Brisbane, Australia, in 2023, Axiom initiated an aggressive expansion plan through a franchise model.
- March 2025: Opening of the first unit in the United States, in Austin, Texas.
- June 2025: Opening in Niagara Falls, Canada, focusing on the region’s huge tourist flow.
- July 2025: Launch in Easton, Pennsylvania, consolidating presence in the U.S.
With over 500,000 visitors in its first units and a projected growth of 300% in 2025, the company is already planning new openings in China and other American cities.
