Arrival Of New Ships Boosts Jobs In The Shipyard
The Ecovix Group is making progress in consolidating the recovery of its activities at the Rio Grande Shipyard with the arrival of three new ships at the dock for repairs. The vessels, which will be on-site for approximately 20 days, will undergo docking, treatment, painting, mechanical work, and boilerwork. This movement will generate around 150 jobs in Rio Grande, with local workforce hiring and an increase in hotel and food services due to the arrival of specialists from the vessels, coming from other regions of the country or abroad.
The ships that have arrived at the shipyard are the Argentine Cabo Pilar, a tanker from Antares Naviera, and two fishing vessels: the Chinese LQVY 279, from Quing Dao Yang Ocean Fishery, and the Spanish Jose Antonio Nores, from Grupo Nores. The services will be carried out in partnership with DockBrasil, which has previously worked with Ecovix on other repairs at the Rio Grande Shipyard.
Advances In The Judicial Recovery Process Of Grupo Ecovix
The arrival of the vessels comes in a week in which the Grupo Ecovix celebrated a significant advancement in its judicial recovery process. The company settled debts with 130 companies in class IV, which consists of micro and small enterprises. In addition, debts secured by collateral (class II) have already been paid, and obligations with the other classes are up to date.

On March 8, the 2nd Civil Court of Rio Grande homologated the addition to the company’s judicial recovery plan, approved on January 23. “These are important milestones for the implementation of our business plan, in line with our commitment to the development of the South region. We have been conducting naval repairs, port operations, and we are confident in the gradual resumption of shipbuilding,” highlights Ecovix’s CEO, Robson Passos.
The Relevance Of The Judicial Recovery Process For The Rio Grande Shipyard
Laurence Medeiros, judicial administrator of Medeiros Administração Judicial, emphasizes the relevance and complexity of Ecovix’s judicial recovery process. “Significant steps have been taken over the last five years since the approval of the judicial recovery plan. This brings legal security for the company, the creditors, and all the work of resuming naval activities,” states the lawyer.
With the resumption of activities at the Rio Grande Shipyard, Ecovix demonstrates its commitment to the development of the South region and the creation of jobs in the naval sector. The arrival of the new ships and the advances in the judicial recovery process are positive signs that the company is on the right path to achieve its goals and reaffirm its position in the market.
The generation of jobs and the economic movement brought by the arrival of the ships and specialists are essential elements for the growth and sustainable development of the region. In addition, the partnership with DockBrasil strengthens the technical and operational capacity of the Rio Grande Shipyard, allowing for high-quality repairs and maintenance of the vessels.
As Ecovix progresses in its recovery plan, the expectation is that the company will continue to attract new business and investments to the Rio Grande Shipyard, resulting in even more jobs and benefits for the local community and the naval sector as a whole.
