The agreement between the companies also includes the supply of equipment produced in Brazil by WEG, with powers of 7.4 kilowatts (kW) for homes or condominiums, and 22 kW, more recommended for businesses or companies.

The ecosystem of solutions offered by WEG to Neoenergia also includes a management platform for distributing or charging consumption by each user, controlled access through proximity cards, and a demand control system.

According to Hugo Nunes, Director of Liberalized Businesses at Neoenergia, in a statement, the partnership with WEG for charging stations for electric cars is linked to the company’s commitments to sustainable advancement by promoting the local production chain and electric mobility to encourage a reduction in carbon emissions, combating climate change.

Neoenergia and WEG Are Working Together on Several Projects for the Electric Car Market

Neoenergia has been active in the electric car sector with various projects, such as the installation of an electric highway in the Northeast, which will connect the capitals Salvador, in Bahia, and Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, passing through Aracaju (SE), Maceió (AL), Recife (PE), and João Pessoa (PB).

The green corridor is the result of a Research and Development (R&D) project and is part of the company’s electric mobility program. Last year, it expanded its business strategy by offering charging station solutions.

According to Manfred Peter Johann, Superintendent Director of WEG Automation, the company plans to make electric mobility a reality in Brazil, structurally meeting the entire required chain so that electric cars become feasible. The company continuously develops its line of frequency inverters for electric traction and electric motors, combining efficiency and quality.

Audi Invests R$ 20 Million in Ultra-Fast Charging Stations

In December of last year, Audi announced that it would make a significant investment alongside its dealerships in Brazil, aimed at expanding ultra-fast charging stations in the country. According to Johannes Roscheck, CEO and President of Audi, the company is moving toward a 100% electric future.

With a total investment of R$ 20 million, the project aims to install DC stations of 150 kW in almost all of the automaker’s units in the country, starting this year. With this type of charger, a model like the Audi E-tron SUV, for example, can have its battery charged from 0 to 80% in less than half an hour.
