Neoenergia entered into a partnership with WEG for the installation of charging stations for electric cars in Brazil. WEG will provide unique charging solutions for the project

WEG will provide exclusive charging solutions for Neoenergia, which has its own fleet of electric cars and also resells charging stations for business, residential and commercial customers.

The agreement between the companies also provides for the supply of equipment produced in Brazil by WEG with powers of 7,4 kilowatt (kW), aimed at homes or condominiums, and 22 kW, more recommended for businesses or companies.

The ecosystem of solutions offered by WEG to Neoenergia also includes a management platform for apportioning or charging the consumption of each user, controlled access through proximity cards and a demand control system.

According to Hugo Nunes, Director of Liberalized Business at Neoenergia, in a note, the partnership with WEG for the charging stations for electric cars is linked to the company's commitments to sustainable progress by fostering the local production chain and electric mobility, in order to encourage the reduction of carbon emissions, combating climate change.

Neoenergia and WEG are working together on several projects aimed at the electric car market

Neoenergia has been operating in the electric car sector with several projects, such as the installation of an electroway in the Northeast, which will connect the capitals Salvador, in Bahia, and Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, passing through Aracaju (SE), Maceió (AL ), Recife (PE) and João Pessoa (PB).

The green corridor is the result of a Research and Development (R&D) project and is part of the company's electric mobility program. Last year, it expanded its business strategy by offering charging station solutions.

According to the superintendent director of WEG Automação, Manfred Peter Johann, the company plans to make electric mobility a reality in Brazil, structurally serving the entire chain required for electric cars to become viable. The company continuously creates its line of frequency inverters for electric traction and electric motors, combining efficiency and quality.

Audi invests BRL 20 million in ultra-fast charging stations

In December of last year, Audi announced that it will make a high investment alongside its dealerships in Brazil, aiming at the expansion of ultra-fast charging stations in the country. According to Johannes Roscheck, CEO and President of Audi, the company is moving towards a 100% electric future.

With a total investment of BRL 20 million, the project aims to install 150 kW DC stations in almost all of the automaker's units in the country, starting this year. With this type of charger, a model like the Audi E-tron SUV, for example, can have its battery charged from 0 to 80% in less than half an hour.
