New Agreement of R$ 500 Million Points to the Solar Revolution in the States of Bahia, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco and Distrito Federal

São Paulo – In a strategic move that aligns with the growing demand for sustainable energy, Neoenergia announced a new partnership with Comerc Energia. The information was confirmed by Neoenergia’s CEO, Eduardo Capelastegui, in a statement that highlights the company’s ambition to strengthen its presence in the renewable energy market.

Focus on Distributed Generation

The partnership aims primarily at the development and operation of photovoltaic plants in the states of Bahia, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco and the Federal District. According to Capelastegui, the agreement aligns perfectly with Neoenergia’s renewable energy strategy.

The project has the potential not only to accelerate the energy transition in Brazil but also to contribute to the country’s decarbonization.

Investment and Approval

With a total estimated investment of R$ 500 million, the initiative is subject to approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).

The announcement comes at an opportune moment, as September has proven to be an especially significant month for the company. In addition to this agreement with Comerc Energia, Neoenergia completed another important partnership, this time with Warrington, for the equal division of the share capital of several transmission subsidiaries, such as Neoenergia Jalapão and Neoenergia Santa Luzia, among others.

Financial and Strategic Reinforcement

The influx of resources from the sale, made on September 29 and exceeding R$ 1.1 million, will strengthen Neoenergia’s financial health. The maneuver is also in line with the company’s asset rotation strategy, which focuses on optimizing and enhancing its portfolio.

The announcement solidifies Neoenergia as a significant player in the landscape of renewable energy in Brazil. Now, it remains to wait for the next chapters of this partnership that promises to revolutionize the sector and contribute to a more sustainable future.
