GWM's new SUV, Haval Jolion, will arrive on the Brazilian automotive market soon, promising to lead sales in the segment and leave Toyota Corolla Cross behind.

Um new cheap medium SUV arrives to try to steal the podium from the current segment leaders in Brazil. The GWM Haval Jolion will have the most competitive price in the segment and this will be its biggest selling point. A GWM is one of the automakers that promises to grow the most in the coming years in the Brazilian automotive market and, with only two products today, in this case, the Haval H6 and H6 GT SUVs, it has already shown that it has enough quality and technology to convince the buyer.

The brand already has a factory in Brazil and will begin its national production this year and the current bet to kick-start the Brazilian factory is the GWM Haval Jolion SUV, also known as H4, which will compete with models such as Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 pro, Toyota Corolla Cross and others.

The name of the GWM SUV varies according to each automotive market in which it is sold, and may be called Jolion in China and Europe, but here it will come as H4 in reference to its lower positioning than the H6 in Brazil. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,47 m long, 2,70 m wheelbase, 1,83 m wide and 1,65 m high, weighing 1521 kg and holding a good 430 L of luggage in the trunk.

Design of the new GWM Haval Jolion

The appearance of the GWM Haval Jolion attracts positive attention in the automotive market and the car is very beautiful. At the front we have a beautiful grille with some chrome fragments, the bumper comes with a gray appliqué and false air intakes, in addition to the entire optical assembly being full adaptive LED.

On the sides, it comes with a chrome window frame and trim, while the wheels are 18 inches with a diamond finish. Moving to the rear, the GWM SUV is very beautiful and well designed, we have an integrated spoiler, a gray appliqué on the bumper, as well as full LED taillights.

Like BYD, GWM stated that all of its products in Brazil will be electrified, whether hybrid or electric and the new GWM Haval Jolion will be no different. The mechanical set that the GWM SUV will use in the Brazilian automotive market is the 1.5 horsepower 150 Turbo that comes coupled to another electric motor at the rear. In this case, the car offers 190 combined horsepower and 38,2 kgfm of torque always associated with a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission and front-wheel drive.

New GWM SUV delivers great ethanol consumption

The performance of the GWM Haval Jolion is excellent for a conventional hybrid and it outruns a Corolla Cross hybrid and Tiggo 7 pro hybrid. Another highlight is the excellent consumption averages that it manages to record, but it is also worth highlighting that the car will be, here, a Flex hybrid, so it will have lower emissions and run on ethanol, which in some states is much cheaper, consumer can save even more. Inside, GWM's new SUV follows the modern and minimalist line of the automaker's other SUVs.

The model is very current and modern, apart from its excellent finish with only high quality materials.

The interior space comfortably accommodates five adults and, in terms of equipment, we have items such as the driver's seat with electrical adjustments and massager, face key, electronic parking brake, rotary gear selector on the console, Auto Hold, induction cell phone charging, dual-zone digital climate control, rear air vents, panoramic sunroof, premium sound system, multifunctional steering wheel, digital panel with configurable 10-inch screen and much more.

The factory acquired by GWM in Brazil previously belonged to Mercedes-Benz, located in the municipality of Iracemápolis, in the state of São Paulo. The transaction, announced in 2021, reflects GWM's commitment to the Brazilian market and its confidence in the country's growth potential in the vehicle segment. The choice of location is not only strategic from a logistical point of view, given the proximity to important transport routes and consumer markets, but also symbolic, highlighting the transfer of technology and innovation in the country's automotive sector.

With the acquisition of this factory, GWM plans to introduce its range of vehicles in Brazil and Latin America, including SUVs, pickup trucks and, eventually, electric and hybrid vehicles, aligning with global trends in sustainability and technological innovation. The initiative will not only boost the Brazilian automotive market with new options for consumers, but also promises to generate jobs and encourage local technological development.
