In The Azulão Field In Amazonas, A Project That Will Involve Techint, Eneva Will Start Installing Equipment For Drilling And Exploration
After The Azulão Field, the project in which Techint will build a thermoelectric plant received the final license, it is now Eneva’s turn to begin its involvement.
On the next 11th, Eneva will start the installation of equipment for drilling and exploration of natural gas in the states of Roraima and Amazonas. The area is located between the municipalities of Silves and Itapiranga, in the Azulão natural gas field.
The governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, announced the start of Eneva’s construction, also discussing the importance of the states of Amazonas and Roraima in onshore gas exploration, “The state of Amazonas holds 50% of all Brazilian reserves for onshore gas exploration. This is an investment of around R$ 1.8 billion. About R$ 700 million will be invested in the state of Roraima, where the company will provide electricity with the plant, and R$ 1.1 billion will be invested here in the state of Amazonas,” he declared.

The Enterprise
The natural gas complex in the Azulão field is a project in which Techint has been hired for the construction of the Jaguatirica II Thermoelectric Plant in Boa Vista, Roraima, which also includes the construction of a natural gas treatment unit that will be built by Eneva, along with a liquefaction terminal.
Eneva estimates that 1,000 jobs will be generated in Roraima and another 1,000 jobs in Amazonas during this first phase of the enterprise, and the governor of Amazonas spoke about the benefits for the state, “This means increased revenue for the municipalities of Silves and Itapiranga, which will also have rights to royalties, just as the state will also have rights to these royalties and also to ICMS collection.”
