Appointment of 500 New Experts Will Reduce Waiting Times and Speed Up Granting of Sick Leave and Pensions
The INSS may expedite the release of benefits to workers starting in 2025, thanks to the appointment of 500 new federal medical experts. This measure, considered a historic victory, promises to drastically reduce waiting times for service, especially in regions with high pent-up demand.
After 15 years without a public competition for the area, the new experts have already started to be called up and are expected to take office this August. According to the Ministry of Social Security, this task force will transform the daily lives of thousands of Brazilians who rely on benefits such as sick leave and disability pensions.
Assistance Reinforcement Will Speed Up Benefits for Workers
The first batch of 250 professionals had their names published in the Official Gazette and will be distributed strategically. The INSS’s goal is clear: to reduce waiting lines and ensure that benefits to workers are released more quickly and fairly. This mobilization focuses mainly on regions where the bottleneck is greatest.

Brazil produces too much clean energy and doesn’t know what to do with it: over 20% of solar and wind capacity was wasted in 2025 while investors flee and 509 renewable generation projects were abandoned in the last year.
In the North and Northeast, for example, the impact will be immediate. Service capacity will increase by 46.56% and 36.31%, respectively, with a focus on states like Ceará, Maranhão, and Bahia. This is a relief expected by those who have been waiting for months for an examination.
Highly Competitive Exam with Focus on Most Affected Regions
Nearly 14,000 people applied for the exam, which has brought unprecedented relief to the structure of Social Security. A total of 235 municipalities will receive the new professionals, prioritizing locations with the highest accumulation of benefits to workers requests.
The Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz, celebrated the decision as a concrete response to the population: “This reinforcement will make a real difference for the citizen waiting for service”, he stated. His remarks reflect the urgency felt in a historically overloaded system.
Early Release Includes Various Types of Benefits for Workers
The anticipation is not restricted to a single type of assistance. Included are disability benefits, pensions requiring examinations, and traditional sick leave. With more experts available, the analysis will be conducted more swiftly and efficiently.
Additionally, the impact will be felt in a cascading effect. With faster release of a benefit to workers, the entire administrative flow is expected to gain agility, creating a chain of resolutions that previously dragged on for months.
National Reach Expands Benefit Access for Workers
Even regions with lower demand, such as the South and Southeast, will receive reinforcements: 2.7% and 5.2% increases in service capacity, respectively. The Central-West will see a jump of 28%, contributing to a more balanced national coverage.
This distribution expands access to benefits for workers and prevents certain groups from being left out of services. The goal is to create a rapid response network that serves both large capitals and interior cities.
Discover the Main Types of Benefits for Workers
Among the benefits offered by the INSS are pensions (due to age, disability, time of contribution, and hazardous activities), sick leave, death pensions, maternity salary, and BPC/LOAS for low-income elderly individuals or people with disabilities.
All these aids have a direct impact on the support of millions of Brazilian families. Therefore, speeding access to benefits for workers is not just an administrative issue—it is a social action with immediate effects on real life.
