Statkraft Places Order With Nordex, The World’s Largest Wind Turbine Manufacturer, For 80 MW In Bahia. In December 2021, The Group Received Orders From South America For 245 MW

The Norwegian company Statkraft – the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe – has ordered from Nordex the supply and installation of 14 N163/5.X turbines for the Morro do Cruzeiro wind farm, with 80 MW, in Bahia. The order also includes a three-year Premium Service contract with an option for extension.

The Morro do Cruzeiro wind farm is being built in Bahia. The wind farm is located in the municipality of Brotas de Macaúbas, in a mountainous region.

The installation of the turbines on 120-meter concrete towers is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2023. The turbines will be delivered in an operating mode of 5.7 MW.

The Nordex Group will be responsible for manufacturing the nacelles, hubs, rotor blades, and the 120-meter high concrete towers for the plant.

Another order came from another developer in Chile for the supply of 29 N163/5.X turbines for a 165 MW wind project, including a Premium Service contract for an initial period of two years, with several extension options up to 15 years.

The delivery and installation of the N163/5.X turbines is expected in the fall of 2022, with commissioning of the first turbines planned for the end of the same year. The client and project are not disclosed.

Statkraft is a leading international hydropower company and the largest renewable energy generator in Europe. The Group produces hydropower, wind energy, solar energy, gas energy, and provides district heating. Statkraft is a global company operating in the energy market. Statkraft has 4,600 employees in 18 countries.

Nordex Secured A New Million-Dollar Contract From The Brazilian AES To Manufacture And Install 65 Turbines For A Wind Power Plant In Rio Grande Do Norte

AES Brazil has once again contracted the German multinational Nordex to manufacture and install 55 N163/5.X turbines. Following the order of 314 MW for the Cajuína wind farm of 313.5 MW in June 2021, AES has ordered, this week, an additional 65 N163/5.X turbines with a total volume of 370 MW for the “Cajuína 2” extension phase.

The contract again includes service for the turbines for an initial period of five years, with several options to extend up to 20 years.

The “Cajuína 2” is part of the Cajuína Wind Complex, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the municipality of Lajes. Constant average wind speeds of approx. 9.5 m/s give the site a high capacity factor.

The turbines are to be installed in the summer of 2022 and will be provided in a specific project operating mode of 5.7 MW. The Nordex Group will manufacture poles, most nacelles, 120-meter concrete towers, and rotor blades in Brazil.

80-Meter Giant Wind Blade, Manufactured By Aeris Energy For Nordex, Embarks From The Port Of Pecém To Europe

The Pecém port complex in Ceará celebrates the record shipment of a giant 80.1-meter wind blade for the German Nordex — one of the largest manufacturers of wind energy turbines in the world!

The size of the wind blade (or rotor) manufactured by Aeris Energy for Nordex is impressive. The shipment of the first unit of this giant — the largest wind blade ever produced in the southern hemisphere – involved a specialized operation. The over 80 meters in length required the involvement of several professionals, from manufacturing to transport to the Port of Pecém in Ceará.

Vortex Bladeless Turbines Could Revolutionize Wind Farms And Change The World Of Renewable Energy

Vortex Bladeless, a tech startup based in Spain, is developing wind energy turbines that do not require blades (or rotors). One of the objectives is to utilize these turbines in urban and residential spaces, where the impact of ecological parks is too large. Similar to a “giant straw,” according to its creators, it is here to change the world of renewable energy.

Blade-less (or rotor-less) turbines could be the future of wind energy and renewable energy. Vortex Bladeless claims that the turbine poses no danger to bird migration patterns or wildlife, especially when used in urban environments. Additionally, it states that the noise created would be at a frequency virtually undetectable to humans.
