Wind energy: Nordex, the leader in the production of turbines for wind farms, will supply AES Brasil with 55 N163/5.X turbines, from the Delta4000 series

AES Brasil contracted the German multinational Nordex to manufacture and install 55 N163/5.X turbines for the Cajuína wind farm, of 313,5 MW. The contract also includes servicing the turbines over a five-year period, with various extension options of up to 20 years.

The project is located 100 kilometers west of the city of Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The site has constant average wind speeds around 9,2 m/s and a high capacity factor.

The start of turbine installations, which will be delivered in a project-specific operating mode of 5,7 MW, is scheduled for summer 2022.

Nordex Group will manufacture the turbines, including rotor blades, and the 120-metre high concrete towers in-country, after recently achieving Finame compliance.

Giant 80-meter wind turbine manufactured by Aeris Energy for Nordex — one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world — embarks from the Port of Pecém on its way to Europe

The Pecém port complex, in Ceará, celebrates the record shipment of a giant 80,1 meter wind turbine for the German Nordex — one of the largest manufacturers of wind energy turbines in the world!

The size of the wind blade (or propeller) manufactured by Aeris Energy for Nordex is impressive. The shipment of the first unit of this giant — the largest wind turbine ever produced in the southern hemisphere — involved a specialized operation. The more than 80 meters in length required the involvement of several professionals, from manufacturing to transport to the Port of Pecém, in Ceará.

Vortex bladeless turbines could revolutionize wind farms and change the world of renewable energy

Vortex Bladeless, a technology start-up based in Spain, is developing wind turbines that don't need blades (or propellers). One of the objectives is to be able to use these turbines in urban and residential spaces, where the impact of ecological parks would be too great. Similar to a “giant straw”, according to its creators, it came to change the world of renewable energy.

Bladeless turbines (or propellers) could be the future of wind energy and renewable energy. Vortex Bladeless claims that the turbine is not a danger to bird migration patterns or wildlife, especially if used in urban environments. Additionally, he claims that the noise created would be at a frequency practically undetectable to humans.
