The Norwegian Sea1 Offshore has entered into a three-year contract to operate a support vessel in Brazil, consolidating the expansion of its activities in the national offshore sector. The agreement, concerning the Sea1 Atlas vessel, is set to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026 and includes a six-month extension option, depending on market conditions.
With the new contract, the company’s firm backlog reaches US$ 743 million, with an additional US$ 599 million in options, reinforcing the company’s growth pace and the importance of Brazil within its global maritime operations strategy.

The contract in Brazil represents a movement toward geographic diversification and strengthening the company’s presence in one of the world’s largest oil and gas markets.
The operation in the country will be conducted through the Sea1 Atlas vessel, a modern ship designed to provide logistical and operational support to oil exploration and production platforms.
Among its main functions, the vessel will be able to perform supply transport, maintenance, emergency support, and deepwater maneuvers.

The growing interest of foreign companies like Sea1 Offshore in Brazil reflects the advancement of the offshore energy sector and the resumption of investments in production fields along the Brazilian coast.
Petrobras and other operators have intensified their activities, which requires specialized vessels to support drilling and production platforms.
In recent years, the country has consolidated itself as one of the world’s main markets for support vessels, especially due to exploration in ultra-deep waters in the pre-salt region.
In addition to Sea1, companies from Norway, the United Kingdom, and Singapore have also expanded their fleets along the Brazilian coast.
A Contract That Reinforces Stability and Long-Term Commitment
According to the statement released on the Oslo Stock Exchange, the three-year contract provides greater financial predictability for Sea1 Offshore, ensuring a constant operational flow and strengthening the company’s position against international competitors.
Although the total value of the agreement has not been disclosed, the deal reinforces investor confidence in the potential of the Brazilian offshore industry.
In addition to the initial duration of 36 months, the agreement includes two six-month extension options, which could significantly increase the total operational time in the country.
The start of activities is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, following the technical adaptation and the relocation of the vessel to Brazil.
