Honda Just Launched Its New Motorcycle That Promises to Compete with the POP. Honda’s Affordable Motorcycle Is Fuel Efficient and Delivers Great Performance at an Attractive Price of 4,000.

The new motorcycle from Honda, named Dax 125, is the latest offering from the Japanese manufacturer that achieves 66 km per liter. Costing around 4 thousand, Honda’s affordable motorcycle hits the market to outshine the Pop. The model was introduced in the European market and, according to media reports, over there, the launch price is 4,290 euros.

Honda’s Motorcycle Nicknamed “Little Sausage”

Known also by the ST 125 prefix, Honda’s affordable motorcycle has the same diminutive base seen in the Honda Grom or MSX 125, depending on the country, fitting the Monkey concept, the famous line from the manufacturer.

Due to its shape, which resembles that of a small dog, it is associated with the dogs of the “dachsund” breed, popularly known as “little sausage” in Brazil. With a tiny chassis and 12-inch wheels, the Dax can even look like a toy; however, don’t be fooled. It is a real motorcycle and needs to be registered and even requires a driver’s license for the rider.

In this new generation, the model received Honda’s current 125 horsepower engine, already seen in the MSX 125 and other models. Its package features an unconventional setup including an inverted fork in the front, with a diameter of 31 mm. The base is a 124 cc single-cylinder engine, which can deliver up to 9.4 horsepower and 10.8 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

Honda’s New Motorcycle Is Inspired by a Classic Model from the 1960s

The model features a 4-speed rotary gearbox, similar to the Pop and the Biz. Weighing only 107 kg, Honda’s affordable motorcycle boasts a fuel consumption of up to 66.7 km/l, according to information from the Japanese manufacturer. Its tank is 3.8 liters, quite small, yet it still offers an estimated range of 250 km.

For 2024, this model gains a Glittering Pearl Blue shade, which joins the Nebula Pearl Red and the Cadet Pearl Gray, which have been maintained since last year. With its characteristic pressed steel frame and T-shaped design, no other motorcycle, big or small, shares the same shape as the Honda Dax, which is quite unusual.

The Dax was previously sold by Honda between 1969 and 2003 when it was discontinued. Although the Dax is an appealing model, the chances of it coming to Brazil are slim, even the MSX 125, with a more modern look, has never made it to the Brazilian market.

Honda Launches New Motorcycle for R$ 7,000

This year, Honda introduced a new motorcycle model to the Indian market with a unique proposition, focusing on attracting a larger number of customers. The highlight of the motorcycle, called SP160, is its extended warranty of up to 10 years, a notable difference in the sector.

This model, with its 160 cc engine, shares similarities with the CG160, popular in the Brazilian market, however, it is distinguished by its more modern lines and a series of additional features, promising to be a great option for enthusiasts.

According to data from the manufacturer, Honda’s new motorcycle features an LED headlight and taillight, ABS brakes, and a digital panel, among other advantages worth checking out. The SP 160 comes equipped with a single-cylinder engine of 162.7 cm³ working in conjunction with a 5-speed gearbox, delivering a configuration similar to the CG 160. The model delivers 13.2 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 1.48 kgfm of torque at 5,500 rpm.
