Peugeot Will Launch Its New Electric Scooter This October With A Range Of 112 Km On A Single Charge. The Vehicle Will Be Based On The Streetzone Scooter.
The history between Peugeot and motorcycles has lasted many years, although it is not very recognized outside of Europe. Thus, the French automaker announced the launch of its new electric scooter e-Streetzone, the second fully electric scooter produced by the company, during the Paris Motor Show, which will take place from October 17 to 23.
New Peugeot Electric Scooter Will Have A Range Of 112 Km
The company published an image of the new scooter and revealed that the brand new model will have the capability to travel 112 km on just one charge. The e-Streetzone will feature two removable batteries, a digital dashboard with smartphone connectivity, and a generous compartment under the seat.
The Peugeot did not provide information about power, performance, torque, and charging time, so these are expected to be announced during the Paris Motor Show.

The brand new electric scooter will be based on the Streetzone scooter, which has a gasoline engine of only 50 cc and is intended for short trips. Peugeot was not only one of the first motorcycle manufacturers in the world but also invented the scooter category over 80 years ago.
Throughout its history, the brand has never ceased to sell this type of vehicle, although some hiatuses temporarily interrupted its production. This happened between 1992 and 2006.
Peugeot Motorcycles Launched The First Electric Models
In 2016, PSA sold 51% of the shares of its motorcycle division to the Indian brand Mahindra. Three years later, in 2019, the company acquired the remaining 49%. Currently, the brand is fully controlled by the Indians.
The new owner of Peugeot Motorcycles was responsible for increasing sales in the Asian market, expanding the bike line in Europe, and launching the first fully electric models. In 2017, as part of the launch campaign for the SUV 3008, Peugeot gifted some owners with an electric scooter from Micro, named e-Kick.
The portable vehicle had a range of 12 km and a maximum speed of around 25 km/h. The brand’s intention, according to Ana Theresa Borsari, former president of the brand, was to create a modern alternative for 3008 owners to travel from the parking lot to the office door.
Peugeot Aims To Double Its Presence In The Electric Market
Since the beginning of this year, with the consolidation of Stellantis, Peugeot has undergone a phase of transformation, focusing on a new positioning for electrification in the country, making it possible for a new growth recovery in sales to begin, doubling its market share within less than a year.
The company seeks to go even further, aiming to double its market share once again in the next 2 to 3 years. To make this possible, it will focus its investments on diversifying its vehicle lineup and increasing its presence in sectors where it considers itself more competitive.
