Cocamar’s Biodiesel Plant Located in Maringá, Paraná, Will Have a Production Capacity of 300 Tons/Day
Cocamar began construction of a new biodiesel plant at its industrial park in Maringá, Paraná, in March of this year. Planned in the strategic planning for the 2020/25 cycle, the plant received investments of R$ 40 million and is expected to start operating in December of this year, producing 300 tons/day. The project of the association aims to organize regional production, receive and process the product, and will start its production on December 15. Some Details About the Biodiesel Unit in Paraná
The construction of the new plant by the Agroindustrial Cooperative in Paraná will be fully automated, allowing it to extract an average of 1,500 tons of soybean oil every day. Valdemar Cremoneis, Cocamar’s industrial executive manager, stated that within the same planning cycle, the increase of 50% in soybean crushing capacity in the industry is expected to rise from 3,000 tons to 4,500 tons. According to him, this way, there will be more raw materials to supply the biodiesel plants and retail oil production.
The cooperative’s business director, Anderson Alves Bertolleti, stated that for the cooperatives, the biodiesel plant in Paraná will be a new business opportunity to add more value to their production. He emphasized that the cooperative is moving towards vertical integration of the soybean complex.

A new Oleoplan biodiesel plant could be installed in the municipality of Tomé-Açu, Pará. The construction of the new biodiesel plant in Pará was the main topic discussed in a meeting between Oleoplan’s Director of Institutional Relations, Leonardo Botelho Zilio, and the management of the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec), with the presence of the head of the state agency, Lutfala Bitar. During the meeting, the creation of new jobs was mentioned, and the expectation is to generate over 50 direct jobs and thousands indirectly in the state of Pará.
In the meeting, another topic addressed was the installation of a second biodiesel plant in the municipality of Marabá, in the southeastern region of Pará, for which the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) is primarily responsible for managing the city’s industrial district.
