BYD is speeding up production processes to expand its lineup with another SUV, aiming to make it smaller and more accessible than the Yuan Plus. The Yuan Pro was on display at the brand’s booth at this year’s Interlagos Festival, and its debut is still expected for September this year.
Officially, the manufacturer only states that BYD’s compact car will arrive in Brazil by the end of this year, but we have information that this model will arrive here even before the launch of the already awaited BYD Shark pickup.
The Yuan Pro is a model that already exists in China and in the company’s catalog, positioned below the Yuan Plus in terms of size, finish, and price, just as the Song Pro is below the Song Plus.
Automotive Market Will Receive Car With 177 Hp
The car has been nicknamed by many as the SUV of the Dolphin for sharing the platform and some design elements with its brand sibling. In dimensions, it measures 4.30 m in length, 1.83 m in width, 1.67 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.62 m.
The model combines a comfortable style and practicality, and will be available in two versions in China. Its range, in the most basic version, can go up to 300 km. The top-of-the-line model can travel around 400 km on a single charge.
Speaking of the engine, in China, it is available with two motors. The more basic one delivers the same 95 horsepower and 18.3 kgfm of torque as the Dolphin, and can have a 32 kWh battery that provides a range of 300 km per CLTC test cycle, or a second option being the 45 kW package that increases the range to 400 km.
The second motor equipped in BYD’s compact car is one of 177 hp and 29.6 kgfm of torque, being slightly less than the Dolphin Plus, but still the most interesting option for the automotive market in our country.
New Compact Car From BYD Arrives Loaded With Technologies
Talking about design, the new Yuan Pro stands out for its bold design, with lines that combine robustness and elegance. We notice a more squared visual with sharper lines that may have been inspired by its newly arrived sibling, Song Pro.
The closed front grille, a characteristic of electric vehicles, is complemented by highly efficient LED headlights that ensure a striking light signature. The more smoothly sculpted sides and the alloy wheels reinforce the dynamic aspect of the SUV while the panoramic roof adds sophistication to the set.
