With an installed capacity of 250 MWp and an estimated annual production of 537 GWh, the Arapuá Photovoltaic Complex will be able to supply over 290 thousand households annually. Kroma Energy is betting on a sustainable energy generation model, aligning with global trends in energy transition and the pursuit of cleaner, renewable energy sources.
Strategic Partnerships and Investments in the Energy Future of Ceará
The project relies not only on the expertise of Kroma Energy but also on partnerships with renowned companies that will contribute to the construction and operation of the complex. WEG, one of the leaders in equipment for the energy sector, is also involved in the venture.
Harry Schmelzer Neto, director of WEG, commented on the importance of the project for energy transition in Brazil, highlighting the social role that the initiative serves, in addition to its positive environmental impact.
“The initiative encompasses various factors that make us proud. Here is our best team, the best equipment, to make this project a reference,” Schmelzer Neto stated, emphasizing the innovation and quality of the partnership.
Another important ally in financing the project is the Banco do Nordeste (BNB), which provided 80% of the funds necessary for the development of the Photovoltaic Complex. Eliane Brasil, superintendent of BNB, highlighted the bank’s importance in supporting sustainable and clean energy projects in Brazil.
“The bank is indeed the bank of clean energy, and we want to be part of projects like this. It will change the market in Brazil, I have no doubt,” she affirmed.
New Job Openings Will Be Created by Kroma Energy
With the forecast for the commercial operation of the solar complex starting in the first quarter of 2026, Kroma Energy is preparing to impact not only the energy sector but also the local economy of Jaguaruana and the Jaguaribe Valley.
The expectation of creating up to 1000 direct and indirect jobs will be a determining factor for the development of the region, bringing new opportunities for local residents, especially in construction, operation, and maintenance of the photovoltaic complex.
Additionally, the project will positively impact the city’s infrastructure, with investments in transportation, supply of materials, and services. The jobs generated will also benefit adjacent areas, such as commerce and services, which will follow the growth in demand in the region.
Ceará, with its favorable climatic conditions and expanding infrastructure, will further consolidate as a hub for renewable energies in the coming years. Kroma Energy’s project also counts on collaboration from Goener, a company specialized in developing renewable energy generation solutions.
Thus, the Arapuá Complex will be a true showcase for cutting-edge technologies in the solar sector, establishing a model to be followed by future initiatives in the country. In addition to the direct benefits in terms of generating clean energy, the Arapuá Complex also aligns with the national agenda for sustainability and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
